Since you asked I just knew I saw some photos online of Mules in cammo. I know I have seen some USMC Mules in cammo but I don't think it was MERDC.
This is the only one I could find but the paint looks to be the real deal.

Nice truck! I think most of us G749 folks have thought at one time about a re-power. As the parts dry up for the Hydramatic transmissions, any of us that want to keep driving will possibly face a re-power situation.
We complain about the transmissions but they can be tough if taken care of.
I got one awhile back from O'Reilly's Auto Parts. - "It's part number CP36 at O'Reilly's. When I went for a water pump they wanted to look it up by vehicle even though I knew the number. It made them happy to find it when we looked for a late 1950's GMC pickup truck with the 302 engine in it."
I found some snippets at a couple of web sites: https://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/41657/difference-between-a-army-civilian-gmc-302.html

Maybe some of this will help you out.
Ditto on the starter switch. I had to take mine apart and scrape all the carbon off. After that the contacts looked good. Starts better now too. I have seen the contacts get pitted. The contact switches are available so you might could just replace it.
In my town there is a motor repair place. It's an old place and they work on all motors. They sell new ones as well. I bet if you took the brushes and the armature down to a place like that they could match it to an existing one.
That shop is too clean! My shop looks like a bomb went off. I did organize my parts for my M37 project. At that point I realized I had about 6 exhaust hangers. Guess I forgot I had some. Then a buddy brought me his leftovers from his M37 project and I have more exhaust hangers.
I haven't see the kits in quite a while now. I have seen from time to time the complete pump for sale on the popular bidding website. They aren't cheap but are the whole pump. I tired to get a run of the rubber isolators made but the company never would do it. They had better things to do .
Welcome! I don't have my manual handy but on the back of the transmission is a hex plug that you can remove that has a screen filter inside. That's the only filter that I know of.
Yep, gunsgreg has it, in the winter if I want to paint I take the cans to the house and set them on a heat register for a few days. Another thing I do is when I am done I clean the spray nozzle with acetone and blow compressed air through it. I also put a little acetone down the hole where the...
Welcome! A backup camera is a nice thing to have.
I wonder if you could use a EFI for a 302 / 5.0 engine. It would be the same size. You might need to create or find an adapter. I have always thought a carby with a dual primary and secondary could be tuned to have the primary leaner for...
I had thought about converting an old Army radio but when I found a pair of Bluetooth speakers that would fit in an old speaker shell I got I went with that idea. I use my old i-phone 5 to connect to them.
Here is a video I made to show my brothers. https://youtu.be/n4mV-nb_zt4

24087 is the victim of several changes in FSC595 over the decades. David Doyle posted the details of the story back in 2007.

Well that link didn't work. Searching. Fixed now.
24084 is the match to the old 24087.

Jeff, looking back at the photos I am not seeing the mounting base for the AM/598/U. The power unit fits on a flange on the back of the mount and then the two T handles you screw down to hold it on the mount.
In your last photo inside the wheel I see some sort of canvas item. Is that a...
Cool that's the PRC-10 with the AM-598/U power supply. You have the correct Accessory Case as well. Will you mount that in your truck? I put one in my M38A1.

The PRC-10 is a tactical radio and does not have much range. They were introduced...
Are you sure the pin is missing? If I remember correctly the pin is actually attached to the band. The pin my truck has does not look anything like the nice big flat one in the manual. It is a more narrow thing, looks almost like a cut off nail in the hole.
Well not sure Tatertot will fess up to it but he decided to sell his truck. Seems the fussy neighbor was raising a stink about old cars being around in the neighborhood. (Geeze this is way out in the country on a dead end road!) So the County cracked down on the area and Tot had to move his...
