An insulated battery box does WONDERS in the winter too. Remember that lead-acid batteries have to keep a certain temp (around 70-80 I think) to stay "healthy". They do most of that on their own, almost like burning calories!
They'll use their own heat and energy to keep each other warm during...
Again, something I need to look at. However, the stock engine does put out 425 ft.lb at sea level from the data I have.
From research here on the forum, there are people cranking 15psi on the stock turbo which is a boiling hot charge, and totally out of the efficient range, but looks like 515...
I'm not sure yet. I still need to determine how well built the lower end is. I would recommend running about 12-14psi as a max for now. Let me blow apart my truck first. I'm quite sure from what I have seen, that you could handle 15psi with the flow of a HX-40W without hurting anything.
IF you...
you'd be looking at stock numbers with 4-6 psi and up to 325 hp and 600 ft lbs at 16 psi.
Cooler EGT's across the board, increased mpg if you drive it properly.
I did, but I found another.. HAHA
I'm not sure if the price is going to come down on it enough for me. I didn't realize that it didn't run and I am facing a $1200 trip back, and $1000 for the parts it needs.
I may just keep looking. There is one for sale in Colorado City, OK which is right...
A simple resistor in line with the brake triggers should drop your voltage to 12V, I suppose.
Another more complex idea would be to wire a 12V bus off of a single battery, and add in a cheap 12V alternator from an older car. Brackets and v-belt should be really simple with some welding and...
I found an inline heater that used a glow plug on a 150 degree thermostat. The ad said that you can use a high delivery pump to get it to the heater, and then straight into the fuel pump...
Sound reasonable or am I insane? I thought a glow plug on a thermostat would be a great idea becaue it...
Here it is.. LOL
Probably can't carry 2.5K and it doesn't seem to have the 427hp as advertised, but $19.00 is a steal!
No seriously, I have one coming in as soon as I work out the logistics of going to get it, repairing a gunky fuel system, and driving it home...
I just thought a little humor...
