There are several dozen trucks - deuces and 5 tons - that I know are being used as daily or very frequent drivers. I haven't met another owner yet with a CDL. It's the law, might as well suck it up and be legal. And my truck is only driven once or twice a month.
You have to drive on streets to get it off of base. No matter, no base would allow such a tow set up or allow you to crawl around at 5 mph. They are active military installations, not ghost towns. If anything, on base is where you want to be 100% legal, legit and correct and save the shady...
They aren't concerned with what you would rather do. Many base commanders realize that these trucks haven't always been run in years, are not tagged and few people bother with insurance before pick up. Sprinkle in a few accidents and near misses and many places require it be PROPERLY towed off...
The last time I was in a convoy to a MV event the 932 I was with went down for a clogged air dryer. He lost pressure and it would not build until he paid a mobile mech to bypass it.
WRONG. The hillsides behind both camp locations have been set on fire multiple times. It's not the Sahara Desert with endless miles of nothing but sand, there is brush, bushes and other flammables everywhere.

I used the Webster's meaning for "about" - reasonably close to.
Meaning, IMHO, if he were to use a setup close to mine, I feel he would achieve nearly the same results and the small differences in tire size would not...
I use it to drive around camp. My son has long outgrown it and I want to use it once in awhile until my grandkids can take it over. They have no resale value.
So, um, yeah, it's mine.
I'm running 11.00 x 20s which are about the same height as 395s.
Loading them with a winch is easier since I have three. Pull them up backwards and just push or ride them out on site. The little quad wouldn't make it up the ramps anyway.
I made my own ramps to load ATVs with. The heaviest ATV is about 800 pounds. I used 2 x 10s cut to the same length as the bed and added a 2 x 4 stringer underneath to stiffen them up. Then I mounted a 2000lb ATV winch on the forward wall of the deuce bed and use it to pull the ATVs up the...
