Coachgeo, that option also seems doable, what is your plan for spring perches? It looks like they could easily be fabed using steel. Do you plan to weld them to the housing? I would probably not weld to the housing since its cast iron and would rather sandwich the housing with the spring...
Coachgeo, Scottmandu,
Thank you for both of your replies. I didn't think about the R/L offset. I just looked at Meritors website and found some info, It looks like the newer A1 RR axle has the chunk offset 1.17" to the drivers side vs the original A0 RR axle was offset 6.67" to the drivers...
Coachgeo,
Are you planning to swap the entire 6x6 intermediate axle into your truck or can just the center section be used? What else needs changed for the swap (driveshaft, exhaust....)?
Thanks,
Mike
According to Dana’s website the part is available and in stock. I purchased mine at the local Truck Pro in Columbus. I gave them the part number and they ordered them in.
Amsteel Blue is a very good synthetic rope used to replace steel cable in winches. The rope is made of Dyneema which in the same size as steel generally has a much higher breaking strength. I am in the process of replacing the steel cable on a 10k winch I have.
I have the MRC Carpenter set you show pictured and have set both the valve lash and fuel injectors. It’s not hard following their procedure which is different than what is used for the Caterpillar tools. There is a video on their website. Regarding the timing bolt it is not required however it...
I have the same issue occasional, maybe 1 out of every 20 times I get nothing when i push the start switch. Then it goes right back to working fine.
Please let us know if the relays solve your issue.
Hard Head, I thought for a single phase ciircuit condition B of the below table applies since there are only 2 current carring conductors and the neutral did not need counted based on some sources I have read. I have attached a picture of one, is my understanding correct?
The new fan is definetly improved, the hub is now steel vs the old one was aluminum. Also if I remember correctly it doesn't use the rubber bushing at the center. I am not certain that the old one will not mount, however I would definetly put the upgraded fan on since others have had failures.
Here is the description of the valve I used.
Haldex Midland Manifold Valve 3064940 Parking Brake Trailer Air Supply Military
Should be available on the popular auction site for under $10.
Also here are the spec from the A/C unit drawing, the Gen 2 is the R-5760-0
I used a 16x21 universal parallel flow condenser and so far seems to be working fine. A 20 x20 or 21x21 probably would fit between the intercooler and radiator and i would go that route next time since the cost is similar and generally bigger is better. The advice I received from vintage air and...
Vehicle Safety Supply has the truck lite military LED ones available, you can order via their website it took about 6 weeks for mine to arrive since they are not stocked. The price was very cheap, around $14 each.
Basically yes. The plunger seals on both ends depending on if voltage is applied or not. When voltage is applied the plunger pulls back and seals the vent, when voltage is disconnected the plunger prevents air from going to the clutch.
I don't think you would be able to get the puller legs around the backside of the gear without sliding the cam out some. Also i doubt the cam would stay in the correct position to get the gear timing marks realigned with the push rod force on the lobes, I picture as soon as the gear is pulled...
