If you install the boot so that it looks like it's on the right way then you have installed it backwards. Install the boot so that it looks like it's on backwards.
If your going to dump all that money into a 6.2L why not just do a full 6.5L swap and have the turbo and better heads and be done with it. I've seen complete 6.5L engines go for as little as $400. If you want a real motor then go for the cummins 3.9L or 5.9L. Now if you want the ultimate cool...
I was on a construction job site about a decade ago, and we were using a diesel ground heater for temporary heat in the building. The fuel tank was huge, and the little transfer pump on the site tank took forever to fill it. One day I was filling the tank and someone needed me to look at...
Sorry, got a little off topic. Pull the pan, check for shrapnel. In my dealings with automatics symptoms that parallel what you described most likely mean a toasted transmission.
The use of 15w40 oil becomes a sticks and balls issue. I will explain. Viscosity modifiers are used to change a 15 weight oil to a 40 weight as temperature increases. Under magnification these viscosity modifiers look like little coils until they are heated then they straighten out into long...
If your having them siped then they should perform well in the snow. Siping is what gives a tire grip on ice. You still need deep tread for mud and snow. The combination your talking about should work well for you.
In my experience Goodyear tires seem to hold up better than the Michelins. The rubber compounds that Goodyear uses tend to dry less quickly. As with all tires though time and UV light (the sun) will break down the rubber and cause dry rot and separation. All tires have an expiration date, and...
Well... After I changed my shorts...
I was pleasantly surprised with how much faster the big 855 spun over. Probably not worth it if your using the truck in the warm summer months, but I could definitely see the advantages if the truck sees any kind of wintertime use.
Surprising what...
Whatever... dad...
The positive just happened to be last. I never disconnected the negative out of simplicity. Besides if I hadn't had that popcorn before hand it would have never happened.
Everyone should get a kick out of this. All three of my 5-tons use two batteries and I've been meaning to change one back to four batteries to see if there's much difference in starting ability. I chose the m923 since there is nothing holding the batteries in place and it would be pretty quick...
I could understand not wanting to use pinion brakes on the street as they could cause the truck to pull away from center. However concerning wheel brakes I think they refer to those kits as "off road use only" just for liability reasons. If they're using F650 calipers and rotors then they...
The 8.3 block may be stout, but the rest is not. I've learned the hard way that an 8.3 is not to be hot rodded. Used to think that they were the 5.9's bigger badder brother. I was very disappointed to find out otherwise.
I have read that Russ is real nice to deal with. I wonder if he would be willing to fab up a custom air disc brake system if I was able to come up with all the right parts.
I should try putting two more in this year. Lots to do though, stretching out and air braking the m817, bobbing another 5-ton with a 2-stroke conversion, building a dump trailer with spare 5-ton parts, building a fith wheel dolly. That took long enough just to type it, I better get...
