    Axle swap or not

I thought this through for a long time on my m1009 a couple years ago. I decided that the m1009 10 bolts will cost more money than it’s worth once you take out all the bad parts and install upgraded stuff. I upgraded to m1008 axles and it was worth every cent and all the hard work I put into it.

Need help finding correct tie rod for M1009

The moog website part numbers for a suburban are good for the 10b in a m1009. You can contact customer support to verify part numbers. The moog parts might not be as nice as the ORD but they are definitely an upgrade from stock.

    How to keep her cool?

I installed a new genesis radiator, Hayden 2799 clutch, derale 17120 fan, high flow 185 degree thermostat, and a kit from this thread. I have 456 gears and live in 110degree heat. It never gets above 190. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?167433-CUCV-Cooling-System-Upgrade-Kit

How strong is the brush guard?

My buddy hasn't made one since last year but I'll pm you the info from the old add.

How strong is the brush guard?

The guard is actually mounted with bolts that go through the bumper into the frame. In the picture below the carriage style bolts (theres 4 of them) you see on the left goes right to the frame.

How strong is the brush guard?

If its good enough for Fred Williams its good enough for me. I've done a couple pulls with it and the guard held up fine. I also can get you a kit for the winch mount like this if you want.

I got the new part installed and the trailer is back on the road, thank you all very much. Part of me wants to test to be sure the surge brake is working properly but I can’t tell since the tires won’t lock up anymore when I hit the brakes in the truck. Do you know any way to test the surge...

    Lift kit for M1009

No, never drop or lower the transfer case. You also don’t need a sway bar.

    CUCV Cooling System Upgrade Kit

UPDATE: JoeBlow sent me a longer hose which allowed me to install the passenger side hose around the back on the air filter to run parallel with the drivers side hose. It works great and seems to make for a much happier engine. Thanks for the great customer service.
