    M1009 Help

Given that I can get the truck to crank next time I'm there (which I have no idea when it will be since I am still a full time student). What would I need to do to hook up diesel to the engine. I know in general how to bleed the fuel system and such but should I use the original fuel tank which...

    M1009 Help

It's great to hear that it isn't something broken that is most likely causing that! Wow... I have gotten a lot of help from you Warthog haven't I... Thanks so much, hopefully more to say soon.

    M1009 Help

Thank you once again! That explains why nothing else would work without it. Question is, why did I still have 4.4v to the terminal (being without the jumper)? I will see if the truck will crank over next chance I get. On a side note, not like this has happened at all but don't get after my...

    M1009 Help

Alright, so I have power when I do the jump but when I hit step 7 and forward, do I leave that jump in place or should I remove it? My guess is remove it or disconnect the inputs to the terminal (which would be which wires?) and leave the jump in place. I know that earlier, I only had 4.4v to...

    M1009 Help

On disconnecting the starter relay, is it okay that I only unplugged the wires from the biggest of the 3 pieces of the starter relay? That would be the one with 2 purple wires, a red wire, and a black wire. I just don't want to disconnect the rest if I don't have to because they are all...

Thanks! Just happened to find it a moment ago.

    M1009 Help

I decided to check to see if that diamond junction block was getting any power before I jumped it and when I grounded my volt meter to various points on the engine, it said that the block was getting 4.4v. Guess it is time to break out the jump trick. Also, where will I find the starter relay? I...

    M1009 Help

Would it make a difference that half of the fuses are installed upside down? I wouldn't think it would but I don't have a degree in electrical engineering.

    M1009 Help

Yeah, all he wants the 6.2 for is to get things like the crankshaft and heads for his 83 Silverado but I don't know if he would want to deal with even more stuff. I've been trying to drag the stupid thing (jokingly of course) out of its niche by my grandpa's shop for almost an hour but it won't...

    M1009 Help

Thanks for the clarification on the diamond block and that sure is an interesting piece of information about this truck! I will probably be posting on the info thread soon. I will also be finally heading out to the truck in the next 10-15 minutes (I had a nice lazy morning :) ).

    M1009 Help

Thank you for those pictures! Yes the battery cables are still there and do have a good connection. Thanks for the info on CARNAC as well, I knew he did Deuces but I didn't know that he did CUCVs as well. On saving the truck, that is extremely tempting at this point but my grandpa is the actual...

    M1009 Help

Thank you for the guide! I might have a hard time following it but I will try to when I head out to the truck since it is at my Grandpa's place. Thankfully, I will be in range of their wifi so I can use my ipod out there. Is there any chance that you (Warthog or someone else) can modify one of...

    M1009 Help

Sorry, I thought I was specific enough. What is happening is that the truck is getting power to the distribution blocks in the engine bay but there are no lights or starter or anything that seems to be getting power. The power gauge is not seeming to get power either. Today, I am going to be...

    M1009 Help

Yes, I do have to admit that at this point I have seriously considered asking my grandpa to find another truck for parts. About the only things wrong with it that I can remember is that there is no transmission or drive shafts, it has been sitting for at least 8 years (with obvious results...

    CUCV Picture Challenge

I second on starting a CUCV picture thread! Here are some of mine since this thread seems to be going to free for all. It's a M1009 that my grandpa was going to use for parts for his 83 Silverado but I might just see if it can be rescued.

Sorry for the delay but here are some pictures though not specifically of the electrical since I took these before I started working on it.

    M1009 Help

I do know about the hybrid system which is why as mentioned in your post I used the cables with 2 batteries in series. I do not know of any modifications and the truck should be stock. Sadly I tried to post pictures but am unable to since I am using my iPod and it doesn't want to do that.
