Hi,
I'm searching for a pair of 5th wheel spacers for the M52A2 5 ton tractor. As near as I can tell, these were only used on the M52. Here's the particulars:
part number 11608882
NSN 5365-00-422-2017
description: 2 steel plates made of one inch material, 5 1/2 inches wide, 31 1/2 inches long...
I obtained these pictures from the web. This truck is the inspiration for my War Wagon. The biggest difference is the armor arrangement. The Original truck was considered a "first generation" gun truck. In truth, there weren't any "generations" per se. The Vietnam gun truck was a constant...
Some additional photos, I've got three turrets now in line with the original trucks. I'm still working on placing the PRC-10. It'll have to be mounted as a "back-up" radio, even tho it's the one that works. First show this year is at the Cheyenne VAMC, 20 May, 1000 to 1400.
I don't think I'll need either one. Between my two trucks I should be okay for sheet metal. Haven't done anything to them all winter cause it was too cold. If anyone is looking for a bed I can point them in the right direction.
There is a 135 bed at the Welding Shop in Cheyenne. I don't know it's condition but it is a 135 bed as near as I can tell. I'll try and get a pic tomorrow. I talked to the guy who owns it and the adjacent 211 bed. He's looking to get $500 or so for each.
Mounts are installed, all .50's (replicas) in place. Point of order... if you purchase one of these .50's, they will require tweaking to get them to fit. All 3 of mine had to have the rear mount lugs reamed and the external side of the rear lug ground down. The front may need reaming (2 of mine...
Got three new mounts built and bolted down. The pintle adapters are installed but I still need to drill a hole through the pipe and pintle on one of the mounts because there's a hair bit too much movement. Ammo can trays are all installed. Still need to paint the M23 mount and ammo trays. Red I...
For the engines in post #40, I can check the numbers the next day or so. Snowing to beat all for the next couple days and they're stored out in the barn. I'll add a note to go out there and check them.
Most of my Wyoming trucks are tagged with Pioneer Tags. Vehicles with these tags must be 25+ years old and used only for shows, parades, etc. my 5 ton has Wyoming "Truck" tags which pretty much covers everything that resembles a truck. Does Nevada have a Pioneer style tag?
I paid $1300 for a stock '58 M211 and $3000 for a stock '54 XM211. Between the two of them I've got enough parts to build one complete truck... probably restore the 58. With what you have, I'd recommend getting the Dodge.
Finish it, absolutely! I'm finally in the position to begin work on my XM211 wo/w & M211 w/w. Your pictures give me hope that I'll finish mine someday.
It's interesting in pics 3 & 6, the running light/turn signal has square shaped shields. Were these common? My gun truck has the same shields on it and I've not seen any others.
