I received some Faria gauges that were NOS. They looked to me to be of lesser quality than the Stewart Warner gauges that were original. Am thinking to not use them and find some good ones.
Thanks for the great technical detail. I might have missed that.
From the looks of the auction photos, it is a BIG CRACK.
They stated in the description that it didn't run. It probably does RUN but doesn't GO. Don't think side road route is an option for that one. It'll need a replacement transfer case.
My m923 flashers did the same thing when I went to LEDs. Stopped flashing. Same thing as in an older Chevy pickup truck. Bulb burns out, not enough load to make the flasher work, stops flashing, just steady light.
Thanks for the tip ^^ on the newer style flasher at Erik's Surplus. I will get...
I used the NAPA 16-1450 and it fit good.
When you replace the blade, it mounts with an included stainless screw with lock nut. Don't tighten the nut too tight as it needs a little play in it to keep in contact with the windshield.
I used to blast and paint trailers back in the 80s... We would typically sand the flat surfaces with a DA after blasting, the surface was so rough. So I wouldn't touch a blasted surface with a rag.
I was thinking that one of the phosphoric acid based solutions could be sprayed on with a spray...
Bottom line on an 855ci Cummins, turning up the fuel won't increase horsepower at all without:
1. Bigger injectors. They are not like the multifuel injectors. They will spray a little more with increased fuel pressure but not enough to make a difference.
2. More air. Dumping more fuel in...
Very interested. Thanks Louis. This type of content is what makes this site great, one of the most useful I have ever participated in. I really appreciate your work to this end as I have a couple of big blasting/painting projects coming up and share your concern with flash rust.
As I will be...
I checked the numbers with the local Allison shop and the transmission is rated for 300 hp. If he installs the turbo off the 290, 350 hp injectors, and recalibrates the pump accordingly, he will be a lot happier. An owner operator that understands just what he has and knows how to be careful...
Yeah, he is one smart guy. I really appreciate the detail put into the reports on repairs. For any of us who follow, it is a huge help.
While I read the TMs when I am having trouble sleeping, I do find them pretty dry and lacking a lot of information when actually trying to fix something.

Well I certainly won't jump on you and tell you I have no problems. As was said above, the sand just keeps working out of all the places it got worked into, so it does go places you don't want it to.
I have also given a lot of thought to the whole blasting a complete truck vs truck parts...
What he ^^ said.
It is so simple and easy for the first buyer from GL to get an SF97. A few clicks of the mouse and $60 a pop and it's done.
There is no excuse for not doing it, and people selling trucks without an SF97 to re-assign should not be rewarded with a sale.
I recently bought a NOS double mount for $45 from a surplus vendor. They are hard to find and I thought the price was fair.

Jason, I have seen lots of photos of the rifle hanging from the window wing nut.
Question: Doesn't that beat the crap out of the...
Truckoholic said it right.
I have blasted a lot of truck sized projects and my experience is the same as his. The only thing I differ in is sand. I would never use sand from home depot. Play sand is just that. It is river sand that is all rounded from rolling down the river, and doesn't have...
