OK OK I will have to just say it, YOU are doing this truck the correct way rebuilding the front diff. can never hurt as far as the hood oh well brain fart. You seem to be putting some good thought into how and what you want from this truck in the end I admit I am somewhat of a SNOB when it...
Hello Folks I have a 68 404.1 with a Pertronix ignition upgrade, it has everything including rotor, distributor cap and wires, it also has a flame thrower ignition coil. I have looked online and in all the documentation that came with my truck and cannot find what the proper spark plug gap...
Bob it was YOU that got me started on this NEW adventure to upgrade to the 1300! (Gee Thanks Right) LOL! I have looked over the website at EI and Scott seems like a very nice guy, I have currently purchased all my 404 parts from him, I also sent him an email a couple days ago asking if what my...

Jersey I am kind of a prude for keeping things original but I have to admit this machine rocks, the level of work you put into this is even hard for me to fathom and I have done a bit of it, NICE job and that is one very impressive piece of equipment, congratulations!

I live Just outside of Fargo ND the temps do get mighty cold here at times, the key to heating up an engine is CIRCULATING that heat through out the engine, a warm oil pan is OK maybe? but a warm engine is awesome! Everything heating blanket, battery warmer and blankets for the hood etc. are...
Like was mentioned in an earlier post, I have spin on oil filters because its quick and easy to change oil and I have a spin on Primary fuel filter because is AGAIN very easy to change and its the first one to accumulate ice and dirt, secondary fuel filters are good for a very long time!

If you just ran the truck the batteries should have had enough charge in them to NOT freeze??? As far as you radiator issues and the fact that you have not tested your antifreeze for strength, well there is a chance that the radiator may be the LEAST of your problems!! When you get it running...
