Hey guys, I installed new bosch (india) injectors, and it seems to idle rough and smoke alittle, above idle its fine. Before it was fine and no smoke. I was reading somewhere that new injectors can have higher pop pressures and can retard the timing. What do you guys think, anybody experience...
Would it be better to upgrade from a earlier 6.2 cdr system to the 88-up cdr system? I have all the parts for either system and am getting ready to put this engine back together. What do you guys think.
Whats the story with seeing tiny bubble coming from the head gasket at the rear of the drivers side head/block? I've had this on 2 of my trucks.
1st truck I replaced the head gaskets and ARP studs
2nd truck, not sure yet. Should I just pull one head bolt at a time and replace with ARP studs?

I just picked up a 1987 Diesel Suburban V20 Scottsdale. On the front of the glovebox it has US Property label on it. Car fax shows it was auctioned off in 2002 from a airport in Illinois.

At the moment I have a 1983 K5 6.2 700r4 3.08. I get around 16-18 city and 20+ freeway. I usally drive in 3rd at 50 mph, and 4th(overdrive) on the freeway at 70mph. With the 3.08 gearing it seems to lug the motor alot. Even cruising in 3rd at 50mph, i'm turning 1669 rpm and my TCC Lockup kicks...

I bought one of the cheap shucks/oreilly's balancer pullers, I beleive it was around $15. It works just fine as a puller. I also notice if you remove the pointed end, it will tread in the crank and then it becomes a installer. It worked great for me, I used the puller part to tread the balancer...
I pulled my valve covers tonight , because my ARP studs were leaking. I discovered I have coolant goop coating the inside of the valve covers and spots on the valve train. After I reseal each stud how can I clean this mess? Degreaser?

Whats the easiest fix for leaking ARP Head Studs?
I tapped all holes, break cleaned all studs and let dry, sealed them with Permatex Thread sealant with teflon (white goey stuff). I'm thinking most of the sealant might have rubbed off when I pushed studs through heads into the block?

Whats the recommendation for head gaskets for the 6.2?
So for i'm looking into using a Fel-Pro 6.5 9701-pt Gaskets and the ARP Studs.
I know the ARP Studs are good to go, but are the 6.5 gaskets better then the 6.2 gaskets?
Whats the different block cooling passages about? I have a 83 blazer 6.2 that has the rear cooling passages blocked and the front open and i have a 1991 suburban 6.2 that has the front blocked and the rear open?
Is one better then the other block?
Can the ARP Head Studs be installed with engine still in truck? I here it both yes and no on the net. I would think you can, the studs can't be to much longer then the bolts?

1991 6.2 660 block
or
1999 6.5 506 block
Both are GM and the 6.5 was made in November of 1999 so it should be the revised block.

I picked up 2x 6.5 Diesel Engines (long blocks, no intake/IP). One os marked K199 and one is marked B010 there both 506 blocks, can anyone tell me what there worth? Both used take outs.
I was reving my 6.2 diesel to observe smoke from exhaust and the motor stumbled when i let the throttle go and now I have what sounds like a light lifter tap at idle and when I rev it. No change in drivability.
