cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I here by found the moron; no wait, the Dunce Republic. Here are a few more pics of the donor. The previous owner converted her over for camping. There is a suburban A/C unit. The front seat pushes forward and leans back. The T-case shift lever has a clevis that can be removed and allow the...

Doug I get approximately 2150 rpm with that combo at 70 mph. If there is a sweet spot that is likely it. That I why I am considering it. Here is a helpful link. Be sure to scroll down. Gear Calculator: Use Our Gear Calculator for Proper Gear Ratios

Disclaimer: Never use a recovery winch for over head lifting. It is dangerous and there is a 1:10,000,000 chance the winch will fail and you will be drunk enough to stand under it simultaneously. P.S. The winch/mount (150ish pounds) was in the back of the K30. Don't ask. I would love to...

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

You don't know how tempting it is, but I only have time/money for one. Picked this up too. Should work well on the front/back. I am thinking, some sort of removable platform. Maybe attached to the clevis mounts; possibly front and rear receiver mounts.

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I found this lurking on CL the other day, which led me to spend all day in Phoenix yesterday. I picked up a few things while there (may as well take advantage, sense I already bought the fuel). The radiator and the 454 are in a Chevelle, but it is otherwise complete. I would, shamelessly...

Yeah, I "know" most of the issues. That just happens to be a TH350+adapter+NP205. A spacer and other associated parts and I should be on the road. I would likely find a 6.2+700 donor and have the tranny built. I just don't know if I want to fiddle with it.

I would do it right and it is tempting with the 4.10s and the NP205. Are you running 4.56s. How do you like it overall. I had an '86 ford 6.9l dually with a T19. Loved the truck. Hated 60 mph on the highway. Wish I had fixed the servos and put in an OD and kept it.

Monster Transmission & Performance | 800-708-0087 | Fast FREE Shipping! This seems relevant. It would be fun to get the proper bracket and build an after market duplicate for the MVers out there. Too bad I am moving and don't have the time. Anyone with a CNC table could produce the parts. A...

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

Found a donor K30 and I am headed to Phoenix tomorrow to pick it up. It has 4.10 gears. Oh well, nothing is perfect. Now I have to decide if I want to take the trouble and swap in an OD tranny. I would love an NV4500 but I am not going that route. I don't have the time and don't want...

20 ft Gooseneck Tucson to Phoenix (Offering)

Yeah sorry. I know it is short notice but I am hoping to help someone out. I didn't know I was going until about 2 hours ago. When you find a nice set of axles sometimes you just have to pounce. Hey I may coin that. Where is my dunce smiley?

20 ft Gooseneck Tucson to Phoenix (Offering)

This is an offer not a need. Sunday 7/8/2012. I am heading to phoenix with an empty trailer. It must fit on a 20ft dovetail and not push much over 10,000. Let me know what you have. If you can chip in for fuel great if not that is fine too. I hate dragging an empty trailer.

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

That is a good observation. It occurs to me the your friends problem was likely due torque multiplication, or perhaps a lack thereof. I seems to me that higher gears (numerically) effectively have a reduced load on the ring and pinion. while the opposite could be said for the axles, wheels and...

Aahh! A kindred spirit and a stickler for details. That was my point, though you addressed it more succinctly than I. I do appreciate the expertise of the brethren of the green. Twas I who defended the lolly 3.73, wins this discussion started. Truly, thanks for the input ODdave.

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

No. What I said was, when you hit the far end of either spectrum either the ring gear gets thin or the pinion gets small. That is why the carriers change. Trying to clarify. Not be insolent.

cHucv Soup: The animal to be

I think the thickness was the issue. For those that don't know, as you progress to either end of the spectrum, for a given carrier, you either reduce the size/width of the pinion/ring gear or vise versa.

Moto I am relatively ambivalent in reference to the specific vehicle. This truck is relatively strait, has A/C (the wife and rodents care, I don't), and requires few vehicles to be moved to access. I suppose the fact that it only has 23,xxx miles is a factor too. He has trucks with 20xx and...
