I have a skid loader in reedsburg WI that needs a trip to Scotland SD. It doesn't run, but they will load it there and I can lift it off with my wrecker at the destination. Just figured I would post it in case anybody is looking for a way to pay for gas on a recovery or heading this way empty.
I just hauled 7 loads of gravel with my M817 yesterday and I love it. True, it is noisy and doesn't haul that much, but it still gets the job done nicely. The M917s are great, but extremely expensive. On a side note, did anybody see what the M917 sold for at Ft. Riley this week???
I'm not 100% on this, but the tracks on that "tank" look like something from a WWII German tank. I'm not sure which one, but I wonder what's under that tarp.
Yeah, i'm over 50 vehicles now. I'm usually home on weekends unless it's a guard drill weekend. Your more than welcome to stop over sometime. Glad to see another east river MV person.
Reb,
This is common with the M915s and the like. The headlight load is too much for the lightswitch. That is why at least in SD we came up with an MWO to take the load off the headlight switch and keep it from burning out. We basically just wired in a relay to take the load off the...
I put it into my trucks and my customers trucks. I believe in it and have found that it actually will decrease the temps due to less friction. I use it also in my winches when the seals leak. Works very well there too. A little thicker than gear oil, but I haven't had any trouble and it...
That is why I put a warrenty on the trucks that I rebuild, so the customer isn't left high and dry. I recently had to rebuild a truck for a customer that they bought from oshkosh equipment. They didn't do anything to it other than repaint the truck and put a few new hoses inside. Never...
Glen,
Glad you made it home safe. Karl told me about your troubles and I think you two have earned the golden wrench award for your artic recovery trip. It definately was a memorable one. I was happy to have you guys at my place and hopefully you can come back when it's warmer, lol...
I would honestly stick to diesel. Using all these burnable fluids in a deuce will work(transformer oil, machine tool oil, waste oil, ect), but you have to take into account your filters will need to be changed more often $$, and you risk damaging the IP and other parts over time. Diesel is the...
I have only seen them on 5 tons also. Anybody know if the 2.5 ton wrecker had a level winder for it's front winch? On another note, anybody have any 5 ton tensioners that they want to sell?
