I'd say that 90% of the time the adapter breaks because the drive shaft bottoms out! I have lots of braces if you want one for a small fee. Personally I dont think its a must have item but it doesn't hurt too!
A 241 out of a 88-91 blazer or suburban is a direct bolt in. No fab work whatsoever ! We've run all three of them behind 1000+ hp boggers/skimmers and the 241 with a slip yolk eliminator broke the least !
208s are a great t-case and will hold up to a severe beating,but the 241 is the stronger of the two. 241 has a 6 planetary reduction instead of 4 and has a oil pump! Passenger side drop 241s are really hard to find and cost 3 times what a 208 does so if you have one use it.The only problem is it...

I paid 12,800. for one of my 1008s back in 2001 . Truck was flawless and only had 4,300. miles on it. Its still in perfect shape today with only 12,000 miles on it and I think it was the best money I ever spent . I would sell my 04 2500HD long before I let this one go!
