I just took a closer look at pic #4. WOW! I thought my left front fender got clobbered on my deuce! Jeez!
Is this a symptom of careless GL forklifting? Anyone?
The crew cabs were not factory made. Every one you see was made by grafting two standard cabs together. If you decide to go that way, keep in mind you'll have to relocate the rear cab mount on the chassis. I too am on the verge of a bob job on my deuce and I plan to make it as inique as possible...
Ok I can understand the purists who hate seeing a deuce get bobbed, but these trucks are re-purposed every day. Is it any less hideous when Boyce Equipment or any of god-only-knows how many other companies paint them red and white or yellow and white as a farm truck or something else other than...
Once you get the bed off, the bogie and trunion assembly out of the way and get the frame all cleaned up, you have a blank canvas that can be filled in litterally thousands of ways. I've looked at every bobber I could find on yahoo and google image searches. Youtube and ebay have also been...
DO IT! Even if you get one that's not in the best condition and you have to spend every weekend for the next 6 months getting it completely trip ready, you won't regret it!
A deuce is a slow cumbersome and lumbering beast, with a horrendously big shift pattern, no power steering with a huge...
I've been planning my bob job since before I recovered my deuce almost 4 months ago. I'm planning to use an M105 bed and springs, but instead of butting the bed up to the cab with the obligatory 2 inch gap, I plan to leave the bogie plates riveted to the truck chassis, remove the trunion...
It all depends on what bed you're gonna use and weather or not you're planning to put a straight bumper on or use the original bumperettes. Also do you plan to leave some space between the cab and bed for fuel can mounts on the front of the bed? Most of the usual questions are answered here: How...
:ditto:
HOAs! What a stupid idea! Who sat down and said "Let's create a private club and make it our business to tell everyone in the neighborhood what they can and can't do on thier property, what colors they can or can't paint thier house, what kinds of mailboxes they are allowed to use, and...
Seems to me it's not a commercial vehicle if you personally own it and don't use it for commercial, or more specifically money-earning business ventures or purposes outside of your own personal transportation. I'd be enclined to contact a lawyer and do like a couple other members did and bury...
After Stacey David built a 41 Dodge military pickup with 2.5-ton 16-spline Rockwells called "SGT. Rock", and Ian Johnson built a bobbed deuce one of our fellow SS members has in Southern Nebraska called "General Granite", in keeping with the rank/name theme I decided to call my bobber Project...
Last week I took the wife in my deuce to the store down the street to get a few things. While she was in the store along came a Vietnam vet Marine with a big grin on his face. The first words he said to me were "Man, seeing that truck brings back some memories!" I climbed down out of the deuce...
Judging from the wheelbase, I'd say it's either an M35 with a frame stretch or an M36. Either way it's pretty awsome! If you wanted to take the box off it, you have the room for a stock bed and a crew cab if you wanted to go that way.
:driver:
I have a CB radio in my deuce that's hooked to the hot lead of the second battery (on the jumper from the negative on the first battery) so that the radio could be grounded to the inside of the cab. It works OK, but eventually I'd like to get a 24V to 12V voltage drop so as not to imbalance the...
Ok, you got some work to do and some of it may be a pain in the pintle, but you have that feeling of accomplishment to look forward to when it's all done. That's when you have the ultimate pleasure of firing her up and taking her for a shakedown run. The biggest decision to make is where to go...
PVC = Poly Vinyl Chloride (plastic pipe for non-commercial plumbing applications)
PCV = Positive Crankcase Ventilator (a check-valve for relieving blow-by pressure inside an internal combustion engine to equalize with the outside atmosphere)
PVC/PCV (a common transposition that may cause...
It was indeed a great trip and an awsome day! Got to hang out with cool people and watch a little bit of fireworks from a mountain top. Thanks to FASTNOVA for letting the wife and I roll up with him in his M925 5-ton. That is one awsome truck and it not only handled the little mountain trail...
