I have a leak coming from the crimped part of the fitting (where hose slips over male fitting then a crimp from the fitting secures it). My question, any quick way to fix it without pulling it off and making a mess? Would...
Bad news, I wont be able to make it. Turns out my fiance surprised me with a cruise for my Bday from memorial day to that Friday.
Well.. I guess bad news but good news!:D
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Whiskey, I didn't do the upgrade to the engine myself, that was courtesy of Uncle Sam. I did swap the D for a C though. I'll change that in my sig
So here's a bit on my deuce. It's an AM General M35A2. Exact details are unknown and it seems to be a Frankendeuce. Data plates say 1971 WO/W but it has an older style winch on it with no data plate of it's installation, it has the older style headlight housing that are reversed so the...
So I figured out that it IS the pto lever that is making the grinding sound during sharp left hand turns. It needs to be adjusted a hair. Thanks for the input Clinto!
Ok, I did some driving today and double clutched it, only one grind, and I think it was diver error. I didn't press the clutch down on the second pump as much as I could have. So this will save me from getting a new trans for a bit. As far as the pto grind, I moved the pto lever during a left...
Thanks clinto! I need to adjust my linkage on both my pto and transfer case anyways so that just makes sense.
Also, how hard/pita would a synchro change be? I don't have any kind of trans jack or anything like that. Would it be worth it to just find a used trans to put in there or take it to a...
So the third gear is starting to go in my deuce... My question to you guys is what exactly do you guys think is the problem. I think a synchro maybe?
Symptoms:
If I shift into third "normally", it will grind. However, when I shift slowly and let the rpms drop a significant amount (an annoying...
Well then, I will replace the cable. I found them for $300 with chain and hook, but would you happen to know a reliable source for just the cable to maybe save a few bucks?
You misunderstood. He said the bent supports aren't a huge deal. Heat and a hammer can massage them back into place. As far as what he said about the kinks, they can be worked out with a few simple hand tools, anvil or hard surface of the like, and a lot of patience.
Yeah I've seen pics of that kinda carnage. Thankfully I got it stopped right before the hook got wrapped up. I did discover, with the help of Rayzer, that the upper and rear supporting bracket are bent and the threaded support rod on the bottom is also bent. We had an expert in the metal...
So I went to grease and respool my winch, and the ONLY time the clutch handle gets ******* stuck was today. So, naturally with my luck, it wrapped the chain up And now it leaks from the left side housing, where the cursed handle is. Fortunately nothing else was damaged. I'm so mad right now I...
