Well, there was one add on C-list i found somewhere in OH that a guy was getting rid of 3 803A at a $1000 a piece. All were non running units that the seller says they had water in the oil. Would make a good parts unit if it couldn't be fixed. Their still out there...just got to have patience.

That's what i was thinking they were rated at...but wasn't sure about. I got a 84Kw @ 480v 3 Phase powdercoat/burnoff oven i got off of GL a year ago and been waiting for the right connectors for the power supply to come by at the right price.

Here's a question about the connectors. Are they rated by total amps the connector can handle at the specified voltage, or are they rated per pole?

Yeah....2/3 of rated output is right. Something my fingers type something else than what my mind is thinking. I was trying to say it was 1/3 less than maximum output. Working on too many projects at one time can cause trouble. :p

That's the one i called about. I didn't get the info on what the output current capability at the other voltages, but i do know that if you wire the head for split 120/240v single phase output, the Kw capacity is about 1/3 of the rated output.

After a lot of of head scratching and research, I've found a suitable replace for the stock AVR the 803a comes with. Here was the issue with mine when i got it...after i got it and got it to fire up, the voltage on the output terminals was on the low side. I did follow the TM to trace down...

It's possible that the overload relay is reading the output current wrong, or the load indicator is off. I'd try running the genset at 80% on the panel indicator and see if it starts to show the same symptom. And verify that it's indicating properly with a clamp-on meter on the output terminals...

If you need a larger genset than what the 803A can output, then I'd look at the DRASH gensets. They range from 20kw to about 50kw. The one's with the 4 cylinder Isuzu engine are almost always the 20kw one. And everyone I've looked into have 12 wire genheads. They're configured for 120/208v 3...
