Bjorn if you were still looking for some tires, not sure which size. I am planning a trip to Berg tires down in Fayetville NC, probably next week, recieved an email from the girl that works there, they had a truck coming in and if broke down on the way there, said it would be Monday before they...
yes and talk a bout a noise you will never forget, on older vehicles especially some like we deal with here, a regular pm and maintenance schedule is a really good idea, check areas and parts that you would normally just pass over or would never think to check otherwise... Im that way with my...
M35guy you might consider what i mentioned about the cummins engine, plenty of hp and torque with the modern parts, not so hard to track down if you break down. But I think you would be happy with the engine and tranny unless your wanting to go automatic, in that case, search for a allison to...
Ryanero, i have seen worse that turned out to eye catchers, just time and patience and some monies but the first 2 are the key, trust me i know this, cause i can see my deuce already with new paint, and as they say if you can imagine it you can make it happen.
GOOD LUCK WITH IT
could be and depending on where you live as most know with older vehicles sometimes certain parts corrode and it doesn't take long and as Mangus mentioned Relays are notorious, one minute fine the next capoot!!
Just a little info, M35guy if you want to go with a smaller more cost effective diesel, try the Cummins 5.9 B engine, i know there was someone at one time that put the old 12V Cummins in a deuce, not sure whom it was, somone help me out here.
the 12v engines since they are mechanical are very...
i changed the oil filters on my non turbo(which has the hole in it now) before the crank broke, to the best of my knowledge the Napa Gold 1133 gasket works in the oil canister... cause i just replaced filter and gasket, i actually have some in the basement but right now don't have the time to...
Over on the TDR website that im a member of for the Cummins turbo diesel equiped dodges, there are guys with twin turbo setups on 12V and the 24V engines, and they have been sled pulling for several years now with these trucks i think it has come to be as big as any tractor pull show on friday...
My dad's middle brother was in the service and was in motor pool, as far as i know only say the vehicles from inside and out, no action.. My dad's second oldest brother, served 2 tours in Nam, first time drafted, second time was re-enlistment on his part, He loved those trucks, needless to say...
Thanks guys, i believe you all 3 hit on what i was getting at and wondering about... Lacoda that was my main thought was availability and having everything pretty much compatible.
Okay i for some odd reason got to wondering why a 24 volt system is used, and was there a main purpose, was it easier than 12volt or was it because 12 volt had not come to pass at that time.... Oh boy got them wheels a turning didn't i..
Thanks.
can't wait to hear my Whistler !!!!!!!!!, i can withstand my Cummins with no exhaust just straight pipe.. Gosh i love that sound.. who needs a radio with harmonious tunes from a turbo...
I have to say it turned out nice, alot better from the first pic.. I have to admit im seeing jungle green on that machine.. make it look meaner.. with a possible push bar on the front..hmmmm LOL.. what can i say i love the indestructable look.
Yeah it should be okay but make sure you take plenty of fluids with you to fill up anything that may have been drained, oil, transfer case, ect.... Some members have said that some trucks get picked over while they are sitting so hopefully all the parts will be there but just a heads up on that...

If im not mistaken there are some magnets that extend are smaller around than the pinky finger that you might can get down in there or one of the clasping tools that is spindly and looks like a braided wire hose with 3-4 griping fingers on the ends, great for picking up small items but then...
