You should be able to get your shoes at just about any big truck parts house or NAPA. I looked into them at San Diego Friction and I believe they where something like $75.00 a set. That was also about 2 years ago.
Awesomeness or Adventure driven are making them. I believe they are better and cheaper then stock bushings running $90.00 each. I did build my own out of a blank poly bushing. I had to turn them down but I made both of mine for $30.00. I don't have the sizes handy and wont be out to my truck for...
I will keep an eye out for your trucks and make a point to stop by and say hi! It will be nice to put faces to the people that I blog with on a daily basis!
Ordered my tickets! Uncle Sam said I could have some time off! Bringing my truck and will just be out in the field parking I'm sure. I usually don't like thousands of people around me. but then this wont really be a camping trip, It will be a mob scene. I will go see some things I'm sure, but...
Garden Hose is the best way and use some cleaners if needed. I saw a guy clean his radiator at the car wash once. I said be careful, he said he knew what he was doing. Then I heard him cussing. Wait.......Wait for it..........Yep he destroyed it! HA guess he did know just what he was doing...
I agree. I have seen people try this and it just never works. The oils inside of the cover will seep out and cause a poor weld. Must be removed and cleaned for a correct repair. I've also seen some covers that look more cast then machined aluminum. It can still be done, just different techniques.
I haven't bought tickets yet as I never know where I will be in the world for work. But if I get to go, I will pay at the door and park out in the field.
I have that toilet. The cassette has vent on it to break the vacuum while dumping. They make a fan unit that fits the cassette and when the dump valve is opened it turns on the fan putting a neg flow down into the cassette keeping the "Smells" in the cassette. I didn't buy it and still feel that...
That also sounds like a good explanation about the level playing field. But it is also easier to sell these trucks sight unseen. I've seen this posting before, and I quote "Passenger side door wont close correctly." When I went to look at the vehicle I saw why "the door wont close correctly" IT...
Can you just make one, one that is better then that thin thing? No wonder it broke, look how close the bolt hole is to the edge of the material. Just my 2cents
I spoke to a guy in Yermo Ca. where they have a shop right off the highway 15. He said that people would come in to look at the trucks and since they are minimally manned couldn't watch them. So things were being stolen, tire kickers were wasting there working time, and then It came down to the...
Some of my friends have full slide out decks on their Dakar parts trucks. The trucks that don't have room to slide under use a deck that fold up against the truck side. That one is a full deck, the same as the box truck and lowers with a cable system with a hinge. I think there is a Robby Gordon...
Unicat uses air in there storage compartments to keep water out of them. There is a you tube video where they talk about it. I used to pressure test compartments on Navy ships, testing for water tight integrity. Most would be very surprised at how little pressure you need. Just volume required...
I was looking at the pics. Very nice build. I see that you welded your tanks into the floor, did you notch the tanks to fit around the xmembers in the truck frame?
I cleaned mine out really good and repainted the inside. I found that the door seal was worn out on mine and that was where my water got in. I also just left my bottom steel with no mat. I want to see it and not let the moisture hide.
