Cool I'll be building on the M1088 A1 that I'm now working on. The current idea is a tubular steel frame. I haven't decided on the skin yet, but I'm considering the aluminum that Oscar Overlander used. He bonded it on with Sikaflex.

I'm curious about your "14ga stressed skin". Aluminum? How are you applying it? How does it get stressed?

OK, I've got it off! Success! It was the forward slack adjuster. It was frozen and had the lower brake shoe much too tight. I finally got it moving, backed it off, got the lower brake shoe so that I could move it a bit with my fingers and THEN the drill hammer worked! It's almost 10 PM...

No luck so far. I'm now focused on the adjusters. I have the rear one on the top working fine. The front adjust on the bottom is frozen and is all the way in. I think that's my problem

I certainly get the 7 year limit. I want the tires off my rig at 7 years. Chassis life is 35K? Does that mean the military won't run the trucks more than 35K? I certainly hope to put 100K on the truck myself . . . hope it doesn't die at 35K.
