And finally!
After all of that. We are ready to embark on our big annual trip to the Oshkosh airshow. This one is big though. This one is the 50th anniversary of the show being in Oshkosh so we knew we just HAD to be there. The oldest and I rode in the truck, while my wife brought the...
In the mean time, I added 300watts of solar panels to the roof of my camper trailer. Our goal was to be ready for the EAA air show in Oshkosh again this year. The black box is where the batteries and components are mounted. There will be at least one more box on the other side, but for now...
My wife always complains that my kid is either on the xbox, or has his phone in his hands. I told her, "remove the phone/controller and give him air tools." We were at it for many hours for quite a few days and he worked his butt off. He sanded/grinded 99% of the box in prep for paint. I was...
No turning back now. 38" cut out of the box.
And of course, as soon as the box is set back on the truck my wife (who hates the truck btw), needs me to go pick up 6000lbs of bricks so I can start building her garden. Started refinishing the box...didn't get far before she needed the truck...
For some reason, I magically sorted my picture issue.
many hands make light work....ok, well light"er" work. Here my son and friend were installing the new bump stops I got for it. The truck was missing the rubber from two of them. replaced them all.
That was a lot of sanding/scaling.
So this summer hit me like a freight train!
Last we saw, the truck was running around with bare frame in the back. The bed was shipped off to get shortened up, and I had a lot of work ahead of me. I'll try to keep this in order time wise...
~ I removed the spare tire carrier.
~ I took the...
Took her to work the other day and got some pictures. I drive past the new huge bakery my company built, and it has this large blank white wall. Seemed like the perfect setting with the white on the ground too.
I'm assuming that you don't always have a chance to work on your truck like I do, so this might be an option for you if you are combating weather a lot. Open the hood, slide this puppy over the engine compartment. You'll have just enough room to work in there and not get soaked! It's easier...
Oh no, I archive everything just so I can go back later and double check something, or spark an idea. I've even met up with other members on here and we've swapped deuce folders to expand our archives. I've got over 1000 pictures in my "random deuce pics from the web" folder, and another 1000+...
I'm in the same boat. I was going to mount a 46" tire/rim in the bed of the truck, but fighting it in and out of there in a time of need (more than likely a time that the bed is stuffed full) would be a PITA.
I saw this picture a while ago and archived it on my hard drive. Thought it was a...
Whiskey makes her clothes fall off....
The last couple of weeks I've been stripping her down. Removed the cover, and the plywood I've added for support across the roof.
Then I got a chance to remove the bows, and troop seats. Also removed the antenna/scoop.
Didn't get a picture yet...
We picked up a set of comms at the Oshkosh air show last year. I've got 4 clarke headsets, and the same comm box you've got.
This was temporary mounting for the trip home.
I plan to make an overhead console down the middle, but I wasn't sure how to mount the box and still have easy access...
I'm not sure how much off roading you will be doing, but I'm guessing not much with that beauty.
This was an idea that i really liked for mounting a spare:
