    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Well, the black was somewhat oily, after wiping the wires down, only the one wire was discolored. It's possible that particular piece of wire's jacket stained more easily I suppose. I will clip more wire ties further back to see if that continues. I can't think of how that sensor/switch...

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Back out, and back in... Wire at the Oil Pressure sensor has been hot for sure. This is running to the Red wire on the sensor. Sorry for the huge photos. Phone is set way higher than the inspection cam... Cause, or result? Can't guess yet. On to other things before I'm out the door.

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Cool and damp, but not bad to look around today. I pulled the pinout for the J7/P7 connection that burned. I'm not quite familiar enough with these units yet to know what all the abbreviations are, so I wanted something that told me what was connected through there that made sense to me. This...

    Hurricane Helene

The category system for talking about these storms isn't great... That's really just tied to the wind speed, and while that's somewhat informative, is doesn't help with size. Helene was huge. Sandy was even bigger at 900 miles across, and not even a hurricane when it hit us in NJ. (nobody...

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

I will report back for sure, 'cause I'll be asking for help. I think I have nice weather tomorrow morning before I skip town, so hopefully I can do a little more inspection then. Without any more info than you see, it kinda looks like a whole lotta heat from a bad connection in J7. Be nice...

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Well.... It's a good news, bad news deal. The bad news is far more extreme than the good. The batteries are just fine. Yay! Actually I don't currently care. The bad news, is some wiring burned up. The second I opened the side doors I could smell burned/hot electrical. I flat out know...

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Well, yea. I try very hard not to throw parts and money at issues.

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Well, while I don't want to replace batteries, it would sure be the easiest option... I'll come back with the results in a week, or two at the worst.

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

Ok, I'll add that to the list. I've got a Noco in there, and it claimed the batteries were fine/full, but what a charger sees, and what a batt can output are sometimes not the same thing. It did sound happy kicking over on the dead crank though.

    No Start - Oil Pressure - 802a

I'll preface this with the fact I haven't looked in the TM's yet. I'll likely be doing that rather than twiddling my thumbs at work tomorrow. No emergency, so no urgent need. I went out to start the 802a today. Hasn't run in a while, so I thought I'd put some fuel additives, and winter...

    Aux fuel tank and setup

You may well run in to a headache if you put that tank on a trailer... You're going to have a significant amount of change in tongue weight between full and empty, unless it's centered. You also have the delightfull result of fluid sloshing if it isn't full or empty. You'd be at 1100# of fuel...

Decently-priced source for MEP-003 throttle ball joint

If you're looking at something like what Country posted, go check McMaster Carr. Search for "Rod End". They carry loads of options, and not terrible pricing.

    MEP Outlet Panel

I can't aggree more... I used to do commercial power distro for special events. We played around making spider boxes for a while, and the reality is, you can do far better buying a unit that's ready to go. The price sucks to be sure, but by the time you buy the parts, and cobble something...

    Rebuild oil

Any time I question changing oil in a new to me machine, I look at what I paid... A few quarts of the most expensive oil you can buy is usually a lot cheaper than having an issue becuse you didn't change it.

MEP-803A Will no longer start seems to be fuel issue not sure how.

I am quite sure the advise to pull the housing is spot on. That said, you're not going to get it done in 20 minutes, because you haven't done it before. After you do it a time or ten, I'm guessing 20 minutes is probably right. Plan on an hour so you can do it carefully. Having had to loosen...

    New acquisition 802A

The well nut on the unit I bought made it half way across the county to me, sat and ran without leaking perfectly. I managed to flex the fuel line just a little while taking the batteries out to look around, and it started leaking after that. I imagine it's more an issue of when, rather than...

    Hurricane Beryl and Mep 803

With an 803, I wouldn't think you'd have an issue with hot water. My 802 will handle the 5500 watt water heater, and pump at the same time plus the odd lighting loads. AC of course would be a priority, but you could cycle in the hot water heater now and again if desired I imagine. WWRD99 -...

Butyl Automotive Sound Deadener on a MEP-80x?

And once you've done it, report back, and let us know how it works! It wouldn't bother me in the least to knock out some of the panel vibrations...

    802a - Almost done...

And... It's done, done. (almost) Done as in sitting there, tested and working. Almost as in I'd like to move it a little further back so it will be sheltered under the deck overhang in the back, but doing so would be a challenge... Also the batteries are probably done... Still ok, but just...

    NEW TO ME MEP-803A

Also, keep in mind what movement you may see when (not so much if) a tire goes flat. A really narrow trailer with a high center of mass might be an issue if if sags too much due to air loss. I have yet to make my 802a mobile. It's on the list, but for now it's just via pallet forks on a tractor.
