Yup - I have had a number of "transactions" with CARNAC and he has always gone out of his way to work with my schedule and stuff. Straight up good guy. Have not had the chance to get my vehicle(s) information to him for a history lesson, but I have to imagine that he puts a ton of work into...
Just a follow up on the Grass Lake, MI event - it was a great time.
The organizers were very pleased with the MV participation in support of the new Military History Museum in Grass Lake, and I would think that we would be a go for next year as well (just FYI!).
Some pictures attached.
Anyone thinking about making it to this one with us? We are definitely bringing the Oshkosh LVS MK48A1/15A1. As time permits, we will see about bringing the Oshkosh M1070 HET and then lastly the Oshkosh M1074 PLS. I have an emergency electrical service call at 5:00am about an hour away...
Just thought I would put this event out there if anyone is in the area and is looking for a "cruise destination".
The Great Lakes MVPA had this on their calendar, and so I made a few calls and this is the deal........
The Village of Grass Lake, MI has their Heritage Day Festival every year one...
Just putting a word out to see if there are any folks interested in attending a really cool Charity Car & Truck Show for/at the St. Louis Center just west of Chelsea, Michigan.
The St. Louis Center is a really nice non-profit residential care facility for boys and adult men and women with...
Think you will make it tomorrow, Derrick.
We are planning on being there for the parade.
LVS won't be ready - am still waiting on new pistons for the outrigger extension cylinder rams (apparently the rebuilders installed undersized pistons).
Dave
Excellent Job Guys! Very effective use of the rig's capabilities. Great to see her doing what she was made to do. I heard that the M747 trailers "would work" with the M1070 HET. As I had been told, I see you pull the HET rear mudflap hangers for clearance? Was there any other modifications...
Very well put, Clinto.
I, for one, was very surprised (and a bit reassured) when I read that the decision makers were meeting twice a week. Whether any progress is made at the meetings is a separate story, but at least the idea that it is being given "front burner" attention means that there...
Hey Matt - since when has "money coming in" ever been associated with "money going out" by the Government!
Anyways, Hey Chad - a big HELLO from a bit farther north in Michigan. Better mark this day on the calendar - this is the day the Green Fever took hold and the rest is history!
Dave
The wife went with me to the truck show today and the gang at the shop loved the trucks and one of the guys snuck out and grabbed a deer rack off of their wall and hung it on the HET grille! We had a riot. Just good fun. The kids just love climbing up into the HET.
There most probably is a "military approved" adapter kit that can be grafted to the hard top of your cab. I have seen many privately owned and current military conventional cabs that have been adapted with the cab roof "gunner's opening" plates for the Oshkosh HEMTT family of vehicle cab types...
Just thought I would put out a shout to anybody in the Jackson, Michigan area who might have some free time and is interested in taking a little ride.
I was in the store checking out what they had on the wall that went bang and found out that they were having a Pre-Season Hunting Sale and...
My hydraulic/diesel mechanic (great guy) is coming out this afternoon to check to see if we have a bad valve or cylinder on the LVS outrigger extension boom. Have to check it with some pressure gauges to see where the blow by is possibly happening. So she may be back in business by next...
Hey there Mike!
Mary and I are planning on being at the TOM Show and Parade. If you still need a rig to jump in just let us know. Still working out a stubborn hydraulic bug on the LVS, so we will be bringing either the PLS or the HET.
Hi Guys.
Have not been to the Clare Show/Swap yet although I have thought about it many times.
Is there anybody going that has any LVS Items? I just got my Wrecker rear end bolted up to the Front Power Unit and am now in the market for all of the "stuff" that fills the boxes!
The list, as...
Well, finally got the Wrecker rear end to my LVS home from Georgia. Leadfoot Transport was very good. Quality Wrecker in Georgia was good but a tad pricey (but still cheaper than driving to Georgia!). My local Wrecker company was very reasonable as the unit did not have any "locked up" hubs...
Pulling out the PLS
Wasn't very extreme - rather more like "why did I ever venture out into the farmer's field at night when I couldn't see the conditions - DOH!"
The main problem was not that the PLS was in some very soft stuff, but that it sunk up to the frame. While backing out (which...
Am looking for an open transport (flat would probably work, step deck preferred) to haul an Oshkosh MK15A1 (LVS Rear Body Unit) from Albany, GA to Chelsea, MI.
Will probably be available for pickup week of 6/15.
Give me a shut if you are available or can recommend someone.
Thanks, Dave...
