Has anyone ever installed energy suspension body bushings?

I did not have to. I've been running mine for two years no issues.

Has anyone ever installed energy suspension body bushings?

I have on an M1009 and an M1008. Made a huge improvement in ride quality and handling. The nuts are heavy square pieces captured in a stamped steel cage inside the floor supports. The cage allows a small amount of movement of the nut. This is normal. As long as the cage is intact and...

    1985 6.2 in a M1010 head question and story ..

When installing the rocker shafts you must properly position the crank to ensure that the valves don't connect with pistons etc. Procedure is in the TM's. Rotate to TDC then back so many degrees. Only then should you bolt down the rocker shafts. Also, once torqued down, you should carefully...

To shim or not to shim

Is your truck 12 volt or the original 24 volt? I know you stated the PO had installed a 12 volt starter. If your truck is still 24 volt I believe that powermaster you bought is 12 volt.

Injector return hose side by side comparison. Tygon/silicone/Viton etc...

I had the exact same issue just happen to me. That special made in Germany hose split on the return tube barb on each side of the front of the engine. Temporary fix was to cut 1/2" off the end of each hose and re-install. Long term will be to go back to the original parts. Symptoms were...

How do I know exactly what model I have?

So, fully understanding that we are way off topic from the original post, one of the common misunderstandings is that ATF is solely a hydrualic fluid. While it does support that function, it also serves the function of a gear oil. Automatic transmissions usually have gears in them as well...

Motor mounts cut thru cross member

If you haven't purchased all the replacement parts, consider buying from RockAuto.com. Much less expensive in my experience. You may also want to consider polyurethane mounts. I tried them and they are much better than the original rubber style. However, you do need to retain your original...

Replacing the worn Strike Bolts in the door of your M1009

Exactly, door hinge bushings wear out as well. Easy job to replace. Rockauto sells a dorman set (does both hinges on a door) cheap.

Clunk when shifting between reverse and drive

The locker in the rear diff has play. It is the design of the locker. Does not hurt to pull the cover and check things out however.

    "Isolated Ground".

Correct. These should be colocated on a manifold bolt mounting stud. The body ground is a typical woven ground strap that mounts to the firewall. The other two should be obvious from their descriptions. There should also be a ground from the front battery negative to the front of the...

CUCV rear cylinder head coolant temp port

IIRC, same gasket as the coolant crossover. #23500846, page 20 part #5, and 84 part #9 in the -34P. NAPA cross reference = FPG 35357, http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx/Water-Outlet-Gasket/_/R-FPB35357_0438970807 RockAuto = Fel Pro 35357 etc...

Need help with unidentified noise please.

From the 1984 Chevy Light Duty Trucks Service Manual Injected Plastic Type Disassembly NOTICE: Never clamp drive shaft tubing in a vise as the tube may be dented. Always clamp on one of the yokes, and support the shaft horizontally. Avoid damaging the slip yoke sealing surface. Nicks may damage...

    Broken Accelerator Cable

Interested to see if the Y270 works or not. Have also looked into accelerator cables you can "customize" like the Lokar's. Haven't gone that route yet. Those kits are close to Antennaclimber's cost for the NOS, so the only reason I would use one of those is to see if it worked.
