trailer registration
if you live in Blacksburg (go tech!) then yes, you need to register and title and tag your trailer. of course, that's just in case you plan on using it on a state maintained roadway.
so yes, all trailers get tagged and titled.....I owned a landscape company in virginia...
modeler's forum a great idea
+1 for a modeler's forum...
I just got back into my old hobby as well, I'm in the process of a Dragon 1/35 Tiger II. While on winter break (I'm an elementary teacher) I dug up a box of models from the attic that I've never done; lots of good stuff I plan on taking...
Hey, while I'm thinking about it...
I picked up a 3-color vinyl cargo cover, 14', this year at aberdeen because the price was right and I thought I'd "make do"...
Anyone have a 12' deuce cover like this, they'd like to trade for my 14' 5-ton cover?
NATO 3-color...
Thanks!
I figured public thanks were due to these two gents; red devils dude and tacticaltruck, for both helping me out with my rusty pile of a deuce.
First off, RDD came through for me in my quest for a simple piece of N/A exhaust pipe. After several years, the truck is now ready to get back to...
k5 blazer
Looks like a clean "clone" M1009 to me, especially if the VIN engine letter doesn't match the CUCV 6.2 code.
I see all the chrome Blazer trims and chevy logos, painted over; as well as the civvy-style swing-away spare tire carrier remnants....the plugs over the bolt holes in the...
Finally thought to bring a camera this time...I actually teach within 5 miles of this museum, but had never remembered to snap pics!
My in-laws were visiting, and I convinced them to visit the "western branch" of the NASM at Dulles versus the "eastern" branch on the Mall in Washington, DC...
Re: RE: odd turn signal guards
Bjorn, you're right; the arch shape is intrinsically stronger than a flat form with two 90 degree bends. When these guards were manufactured, they required at least one if not more "extra" bends or stamps to create their shape. So from a construction standpoint...
Re: RE: odd turn signal guards
thanks, from what I've heard these flat guards come up only on this contract. I wonder why? the flat guard seems like an OK deal, from an engineering standpoint....
odd turn signal guards
This one is a 1970 Kaiser Jeep M35A2.
yes, Kenny, they are great to set drinks on. also good to plant a boot on when clambering about!
Snapped some close ups of the flat-top turn signal guards that live on my '70 Kaiser Jeep. I have not seen these as often as the rounded type. Is this a short-lived subcontracted part that didn't catch on?
They appear to be original to the truck.
Thanks!
Hey all. While I was getting those exhaust pics done, I snapped some shots of the odd humvee commo shelter Ski stuck in the back of my deuce.
It is of a composite construction; not aluminum, more like a plywood shell sheathed in a plastic material - something like that. Anyway, I remember folks...
Hey fellas -
finally managed to bring my camera out to Ski's to snap some specific pics of the pipe I need replacing on my deuce.
I have a non-turbo '70 M35A2, with exhaust intact up until the next to last pipe - the curved section that fits between the aluminum flexible section and the...
Fellas, just a quick Q. What is the sage advice on managing the 4.56 ratios on M1008's....via tire selection....
can 38's, 40's, or 44's successfully offset the high gearing to net a more fuel-friendly 3.23-3.55 ratio?
just wondering what people have done to offset the high gears prior to...
Makes sense to me! Environmentally, since there is less waste with cartridge filters; without a throwaway steel "can", they should cost less from a manufacturing standpoint - and leave less of a carbon footprint.
