I guess it would really depend on the circumstances- how much water you think you'll need- for whatever you're doing with the vehicle. However, anytime I'm thinking of mounting any kind of set-up to the hmmwv, I find myself watching this video and freezing it wherever I need to look. I wish...
Long, boring day at work so I read TM-9-2320-280-10 cover to cover! Now I know why the admins here stress at least looking through this thing before posting some drawn out thread about "plastic cleaning" or "correct mold removal procedures" or something more valuable like "How to tow your HMMWV...
I don't know how many of you here have seen this video- but for those of you who haven't- let this serve as a visual reference of -How Not To Drive Your Newly Acquired HMMWV! If you need example after example of when to use the brake-throttle-modulation technique, here they are. I couldn't make...
Man, I wish I would've made a copy of my Illinois on-road title that my M998 came with when I bought it- if nothing else just for curiosities sake to see how the previous owner had managed to get it listed 'on-road'. I know he was buying them at GP auctions, the guy had a few on hand. I was able...
The headlights on my M998 pulse dimmer/brighter/dimmer/brighter ect. when at engine idle, but are fine at higher rpms. I have installed a grounding kit already. Any ideas where to start to troubleshoot this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
911joeblow, NDT, and Sintorion, thank you each! This is the response I was looking for. Guys who would know about that roll-cage setup. I'm of the mindset that A, I'm not in the military, and if I was the truck would be set-up accordingly. B, I'm a civilian who knows that these trucks are...
I felt the same way when I saw this video. Great to see them test a hmmwv pretty much sight unseen, and great to see them come up with the best ROPS I've seen yet. As for Papakb trashing me a little bit for endorsing modifying these trucks, I think he has missed the point. Didn't they start the...
These guys did a pretty good job (I thought) with a roll cage install. This video just released yesterday- good for ideas anyway- not sure about their "seatbelt" mounting set-up....but I do like the attitude they have about just modifying the s**t out of these trucks. enjoy...
It occurred to me that there may be members here who are roaming around post-hurrricane Texas in their hmmwv's helping people. First, I hope everyone is safe, second, this would be a great thing to do with a civilian military vehicle, and third, I'm sure when the time comes it would be great to...
Bought one of those rifle brackets off E--y even though I wasn't sure it would even work for hmmwv, painted it OD and now test fitting. It fits the AR very well. Might follow up with the passenger side next.
Did the grounding kit install from Kascar. It took me about 2 hrs. Personally spent too much time walking back and forth in the shop getting the right sockets, so here is my contribution to this thread;
Here is a working list I've gathered of HMMWV parts websites. I am sure there are more out there, -please feel free to add to this.

Thanks, I agree with you. I'm working on the list that I have, I was just fishing to see if such a list is already out there, before I proceed. What's the MV Club you run?
Perhaps I haven't searched the threads diligently enough yet, but would it be a good use of a sticky thread for members to post on, an active list of links to websites that provide HMMWV parts? I have found that you pick up a new supply site every now and then when reading the forums, but a...
