there is a screw on the solenoid you turn to bypass the fuel to the pump. some are straight blade some are allen . turn it and it will allow fuel to go to the pump to allow the engine to run. use you emergency engine stop to turn off. don't forget to reset the emergency stop arm at the pump...

Did you try turning the screw on the fuel solenoid ? you may have a shorted coil ?

Sounds like a mep-002a . Not sure how he thinks it could convert to 10k or 12k ?? they are good gens. A bit loud. But are easy to work On. i have the same set up as a portable deal to help out friends.

I'm just getting back from a funeral . I'll get a measurement for you and report back.

My rod on mine had come loose on the spherical end and shortened by about 5/16 . I measured the other unit I have and re adjusted it and fixed my shut down issue.. I didn't have to make any adjustments to the governor side.

They track excellent! ! I think top speed I did was 75 in a 75 mph zone. I didn't know they were back there lol.
