    This could be exciting...

Just catching up on this older thread... Brandon could have put a better quality tire on the left rear of the white truck... 'Tanner'

    Gamagoat.com a look back

Odd. I get nothing at all when I go to that address... Hate to lose more good sites due to a lack of planning for the info to be continued at another venue. Folks need to consider contingency plans... 'Tanner'

    Gasoline with 10% Ethanol

Many gas pumps have a sticker on them stating something about 'Pump May contains Gasoline with up to 10% Ethanol', or similar. Not all states require the pumps to be labeled. All pump gas made these days has ethanol added, especially for the summer. Ethanol has even been found in pumps that...

Not over in Wisconsin, group plans constitutional amendment on road funding

Pete: I believe that the mention of 'black boxes in cars by 2015' refers only to new cars off the showroom floor. Otherwise, citizens won't buy a box for their own, older vehicle. Screw the black box - just charge a higher tax/price at pump, and FORCE the powers that be to BALANCE the...

    ww2 jeep stolen

Hey Possum-Dude! We have a justice system program like this available already, courtesy of Sheriff Joe in Arizona! But his program pees-off certain segments of our society... SmarT: here's hoping that this ends in a good way, with your Jeep turning up safe & sound. And the perps being found...

    GL & HUMMVe

SMART cars have done amazingly well in crash tests. Festiva's? When have you last seen one on the road? YUGO's? Now you're showing your age. rofl Okay. So, say that you get the gubment types to allow civvy sales of de-milled HMMWV's. Great. Who steps up to the plate to spend the mucho...

    GL & HUMMVe

No HMMWV hate involved - but a very similar vehicle can be bought on civvy market, with pedigreed paperwork. No legitimate/logical comparison can be made to the MUTT or any other MV not available to civilians; it's a different era, different rules apply (NHTSA/DOT)... and the Golden Rule...

    GL & HUMMVe

My perception: SMART earned a DOT/NHTSA certification, and passed crash testing requirements. Can't say the same for the HMMWV. T-buckets meet the requirement of the states that they get registered in. As do many rat-rods. The battle you seek to fight COULD ultimately harm the hobby by...

    GL & HUMMVe

Hmmwv What's with the giant tent pole people get for HMMWV's? Consider the hurdles BEYOND Washington that you'll have to jump through in order to get the individual State's DMV/BMV departments to allow you to register them. Then prepare to joust with NHTSA & the DOT. Buy a civvy truck &...

Mastercool tools - any experience? Flaring tools in general?

Just bought a set of ISO flaring tools on Fleecepay for $30.00 - quality bit of kit; no issues. Should have similar results when buying/using Standard bubble flare kit. Use a drop of brake fluid on die tip to make it easier to flare. Also, use a quality tubing cutter. 'Tanner'

    1028a2 wheel & tire conversion

You could try to locate a set of 5-7 usable Michelin 11.00x16's. Or try beating your head with a hammer. Both will give you a headache. Results from the hammer occur faster. 'Tanner'

    1028a2 wheel & tire conversion

...good luck on finding the Michelin 11.00x16's as time goes on. They're getting scarce in the used market, and new ones can (supposedly) be had for $550++ a piece. Some on forums claim to have them/have access to them new, but I have seen zero evidence of this. And the usual suspects that...

AM General to offer civilian HMMWV "kit car"

Cool thing about buying one in a kit: You can build in all the weak-links and failures yourself. 'Tanner'

M37: Them's the brakes; driving fun; future plans

Another key is to adjust the shoes out to proper specs/minimal drag before bleeding the air out of system. I've seen too many people do this backwards & then talk about how far the pedal drops when applying the brakes. 'Tanner'

    Its not a 350 diesel!

6.2 was a clean-sheet diesel design from Detroit Diesel; no 'GM' truck input. Correct though that DD was a subsidiary division w/in GM hierarchy. 'Tanner'
