I wanted to take a moment to show appreciation for you and all you add to this site. Your Sunday Sermons and videos are right on time:grin: John, you do have a gift from God. Also, your posts to those who need your prayers and support are always positive and well read. I have also read your...
Sorry for your pain had it happen to many times to count. Thieves like plumbing trucks. Tools, copper pipe ect. Always wanted to catch one but would probaby bring a whole new set of problems.
Hey lthairdog, WOW! life is good a M1009 and a new baby CONGRATS! I was born in D.C. and I'm sure no one will mess with your house when they see your truck and hear your dog. good luck with all your newbies. Tom
I agree with Barrman knowledge is key as with any vehicle know the product. I think 2500-4000 should get you a running truck in good condition. The knowledge part comes in when you look at the truck to understand the systems (ie) electrical ect. Also, to know if bad repairs or mods. have been...
Hey CPAPPY, First I want to say I hope your health improves. I want to thank you for taking the time to post your build restoration. The work your doing looks top notch. I hope the new owner will enjoy your effort. [thumbzup]
2cents Well, it don't matter how big your house is or how much it's worth. Laws that's what it's about. And, I really hate people suing people just for the sake of suing , people who do that should have to pay the other person's law fees when they lose. Our founding fathers worked hard to...
Hey , after being on the receiving end of a mailed letter about vehicles your (my) reaction was what a worm of a person. I have vehicles for the family plumbing business and my M1009. Got the letter after 3 months of the MV being there. 12 years of plumbing trucks no letters. I live in both MD...
I think like many others in this thread. If the truck will be only form of trans. than read all that you can about it. My M1009 likes to be run regularly, let sit and she wants to stay asleep. All that being said if lives depend on you a backup would not be a bad idea. Welcome and buy that...
B.S. That may be what the city rats may think, but you get caught on this mountain stealing. Well let's just say end of story! What happen to the days when you did not have to lock your front door let alone your gas cap.
Hey M1, just reading through your post and I get a feeling you REALLY want a M1009 and if this guy is jerking your chain there might be something wrong with it. If and when you get a looksee at it, give it the old fine tooth comb. Other than that it sure would be a beast of a truck to own.
Hello 82ABNMP (David), I know it's been said many times by many members but, I felt at least one more during this thread would be o.k. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge and expertise during these projects. Not to mention the time taking photos and explaining the details...
I'm jealous:mrgreen: Looks like it turned out to be a nice fit.I would pose and do the same install but like combatmech got the same water issues. I have been able to chase some of the leaks down but all these M1009 probably need new seals everywhere. Also, thanks for the pics.
WOW! great story sounds like an 'EPIC START' with 'EPIC DEUCE'.Best of luck with all your work on her. Again THANKS for your service to the country.[thumbzup]
Mine does the old diesel start puff but no clouds when warm or acceleration. Also, when looking at these mv's and sure you already know this watch out for butcher that may have worked on the truck.Try to get a virgin :grin:M1009
Congrats on your purchase.Time to break out the tools, band-aides and lots of beer:grin:.Also, I cant understand any real mechanic punching holes in tanks & pans to drain fluids. Work worth doing should be done right.
I purchased a M1009 blazer a couple of years ago. I have a blast in it. Although i would not want to take the wife and kids on vacation in it. I would recommend reading through the site and understanding the vehicles systems ie: electrical. Then break out yours tools:lol:
Hey Shags, welcome from WV. I own m1009 and I can tell you the 6.2 is not going to pass much out on the hwy, but 4L will climb some hills. If you want 44s will will need to do some mod's. Keep checking these guys will have some good info for you and good luck! Tom
