Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

I think a petition and letters both sound promising. I'm still looking for someone to organize us, any volunteers? I did hear from Phil and he does have a meeting with the DOR (they are over the DMV) to see if we can get them to follow the law as passed. I think that there still needs to be...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Senator Crowder (original bill sponsor) just responded as well, looks like they are going to look at a new bill for the upcoming session, that means that we have to wait until late January to even get an idea of what might happen, but it is still something. Keep pulling on their ear folks...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Representative Don Valdez (https://leg.colorado.gov/legislators/donald-valdez ) did just reply that he will look into it and see if there is any legislation that he can move forward. For those of you writing letters, here is the first person that has said that he will take action, write him a...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Still not much of an update, the MVCC (Phil Movish) has been trying to get someone at the Department of Revenue or DMV to hear his plea and allow titles to be issued. Senator Crowder (author of the bill) has not seamed particularly interested in helping us. the other Senators and Representatives...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

I have not heard anything, so far my letters to senators and Representative have been met with the standard "we have recorded your opposition to the law" kind of comment, or the comment that these vehicles should have never been issued on-road titles (We all know that varies on a case by case...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

I too hope that the discussions are inclusive of all MV's, I would love to help and am struggling to find constructive efforts to focus my energies on. From listening to the comments from the hearings, the opponents to the MV's are largely concerned about opinions issued by various regulatory...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

undysworld, Thanks for the advice, i had not even thought about other auto collectors but the same rationale the state applied here would ban those vehicles from the road as well, thank you. Tommys2patrick - Start with your local senators and representatives they can be found here -...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

I've started sending letters to all that I can, although, I did that while the bill was being debated and perverted into what it is now and it did not have an effect. What else can we do? Does anyone know how the efforts in other states have gone and what was most effective?

    Top 10 Deuce Modifications

Montaillou, Thanks for bringing this thread back, some good stuff here. Most of my planned work is more of maintenance than modification. But if I get to dreaming than I guess this would be my dream list. I don't think I would ever get most of this done, unless I win the lottery Dream list 1...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I thought so. I know there are plenty of things larger than a Deuce out there, just 5 minutes on this board will assure you of that. But to my boys it is the biggest and coolest thing out there, so Zeus it is.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

My oldest wanted and "Army" birthday party for his 7th birthday. Unbeknownst to them, a few months ago I had purchased a M35A3, that was living across the highway from our house. This weekend we had a great birthday party and filled the truck with a bunch of kids and drove them around the...

    New Member in Colorado

It's either good or bad for us. The original proposal (or how it was represented at least) was to eliminate the requirement for those of us in the Air-Care areas to have to do emissions. Somewhere along the way someone got mad about newer military vehicles and wanted them to be off-road only...

Welcome from Arvada. I too am interested in how the title process will go for you. SB19-054 passed and classifies military vehicles as off-road only except for those that are valued for historical purposes. There is no guidance in the bill about how to decide if something is off-road or...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Looks like it passed. The Bill says it takes effect June 1st 2019, anyone have an idea of how this will be implemented? I see two possible categories for our vehicles, Historical Military Vehicles and Surplus Military Vehicles. I'm not sure how they will dived the pack and if the historical...

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Perhaps I can get enough backing to have many of the current roads removed from the list of "roads"? Colorado would save money on maintenance and upkeep, and I could drive to a rally.

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

I just finished the title process for an M35A3 and was told at several steps along the way that these were going to be off-road only titles soon. I'll write letters to all I can think of, but this could be a killer for me.

    new Lexan Window replacement

I have used cut MR10 for headlight covers on several jeeps. It does scratch easily, I get about 2 years of hard use out of them (not rinsing the dirt off before cleaning with a wet rag). It has a much lower temperature rating than glass so I get some clouding on the higher intensity lights...

Recommendation on a good shop or mechanic in the Denver area

I'll continue my calls, I was just hoping to narrow down the field. You are right, the two larger shops I called did not want to work on it, especially if I was going to leave it there for more than a day. I haven't found a smaller shop that knows what it is yet. I still need to call Dino and...
