    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Thanks Jess! More pics to follow soon! I'm on the Northside, about 8 miles from the airport.

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Well finally after a spell of cold weather and schedule permitting I was able to start welding the cabs together. I took measurement after measurement to do my best to ensure the cab was squared to the original cab. Once I got that figured out it was time to do a lot of spot welding...

1983 CUCV m1009 - what to look for

That would be $12k+ in US dollars. That thing better be cherry with a complete, 100% brand new drive train with less than 1000k miles.

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Not with the truck, but I have to show up to get my hard top for the project from Bob (av8or). Not sure how long I'll stay though, since it's a 4 hour ride back to Jville and the kids have a swim meet as well as my son having a dance Saturday night. And yes, they are nice door handles!

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

No turning back now for sure! Cut my deuce's cab, cut the second cab to stretch it and set in place for some additional measurements and rough fit. Should have plenty of leg room even without the vent section! Drank a few PBR's during the process too!

    Deuce Purchase help

Welcome to the site! I'd recommend reading this thread http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?55552-cost-of-ownership-%28the-real-cost-of-a-deuce%29 if you haven't already. :driver:

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Something to consider, as I'm not sure how much "extreme" offroading I'll be doing once I get the camper shell built.

Making my Deuce into a Van

Looks pretty good. I originally wanted a M109 to convert it into a camper, but after spending some time on here decided I wanted a crew cab as well. My concept was to crew cab the M109, but then decided it's be too much of a pain to remove the box to add the cab, but the box, etc. So...

About to buy my first deuce - give me your opinions on this truck

Did you find this on Craigslist? I ask because I swear I've seen this one before and thought it was overpriced. I'd definitely start well under $3000 and would agree that $1500 to $2000 would be a good starting point. Good luck on the purchase.

    stuck rear rim on hub

Just trying to help, but the -10 I downloaded from this site mentions torque three times, but nowhere does it say to what that torque should be, other than "notifying your supervisor" it needs torqued. ARMY TM 9-2320-361-10 AIR FORCE TO 36A12-1B-1104 Supersedes TM 9-2320-361-10, 15 Dec 88...

    **2013 Florida Military Vehicle Rally**

Ok, so looks like I'll be there early on Saturday for a few so I can pick up a hard top from Bob (Av8or) for the crew cab project. Looking forward to it, even if it is only for a limited time.

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Ok, got everything figured out on where the cab needs to be. Took the seats, seat belts and salve connection out and removed the soft top off in preparation for cutting the cab. Found the windshield rail for the soft top almost completely eroded, so I definitely will be going with a hard top...

I had not thought of that and it would give certainty to the matter. Thanks!

    My Crew Cab Deuce Build

Mounted 4 of 6 M35a3 rims and tires today so I can see just how far I can have the cab extending past the gas tank to maximize leg room. Pic 1 here shows how the cab sits right now (also how it would sit if the vent section was still there, which would've have rubbed the tires for sure). Pic...
