The air intake is one of the biggest problems with turning up the 8.3. Saw a video on you tube about using a different air filter. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8TeD04Qdoc
Mine had three return springs on the pedal. I removed two of them and now it's much better to drive. Also pop off the linkage to injection pump and make sure it's going full throttle. You may want to check to see if your truck is in 6x6. I've checked 7 trucks and 5 had air lines to transfer case...
Nice write up. I know my M931a2 need a better air filter set up. I was thinking about adding another filter under the hood. I think I'll try this first.

Just checked mine today and found it has been stuck in 6x6. It had full air pressure going to the front axle piston. I switched the lines at the valve that locks awd when in low range and now everything is good.
Some parts. 3/4 ton axles 4.10 gears dana44 front 8 lug w/4" raised steering arm and a 14 bolt full floater w/Detroit locker. $500 obo Also 5 brand new hmmwv 24 bolt wheels w/goodyear wranglers. $1000 for set. Four new 8 lug wheel spacers with 64 new lug nuts 2" for front and 3" for rears...
Great thread! I've been wanting to get my ctis working for awhile now. Anyone post their part numbers for seals and other parts in the ctis or start a ctis parts thread yet?
For now John and I used a piece of pipe through the rim to get leverage on it. It's a two man job for now. One to pry on it the other to put the pin in it. We talked about using a come-along hanging from the upper right lifting shackle to do it also.
