gonna get that done next
Good advise. Will check if my mph is not where it need to be after all that has been done... Engine temp stays at 170-180... does not really get hot... had not had a chance to do a good hard run and then found the pinched vent line... the fuel cap would hardly turn...
Hey Snakehunter...
OK... an update... Issues I have so far resolved and all have added up to creeping up to approx 51 mph.
1. Bad fuel (looked like I had white molasses in the tank. Reolaced all filters and cleaned out the system.
Gain of about 3 mph...
2. Vacuum created in the...
Just be sure to use plenty of grease everywhere there is a seal... between the beads and the rim, on the o ring between the halves, where the valve stem meets the rim...
If you are prone to not use for extended periods or like low pressures for off roading, then a set of beadlocks will come in...
Guys, sorry to say, the company I had approached has no interest for the moment. They said that in the future they might (during a slower season). We need to keep looking because whoever decides to do this will have ) imho a captive audience. It is hard to believe that their business is that...
They are Michelins 395/85 R 20 XML 's
and the only problem is that the fronts have to have the stems pointing one way and the rears the other??? Don't know about that...
After quite a bit of searching for a valve stem I could live with on my Zack (donkdonk) modified and painted Hemmt Rims, finally came up with a nice combination (I think). The valve is a 90 degree extended reach part number WH45-6 and the large bore stud is Haltec part number H41. here are some...
Guys, I am going out of town for about a week. When I come back, I will pay them a visit to see what their interest is and how much. They do not have an interest in dealing with single buyers, but mentioned that if someone wanted to place an order for a few, they might consider it. What I...
Ian... I got your parts... thank you for saving them from the crusher... Also just bought the 2 DVD's that are available (Part I and Part II)... but never got to see the truck finished... in Disk 2, you go into a Dodge fuel efficiency at the end... but never saw the Suzuki getting into the...
Guys, just dropped off a set of brake hoses at their shop to see if they are willing to make SS braided lines. They mentioned that they are not really interested in doing onesies or twosies... but would consider larger quantities. Next week I should know if and what their interest is. If anybody...
I am glad you are able to deal with them so well. I am just not that smart. I hope it works for you and that he did not just give you the number for the nearest acorn office;-). But you are right. Remember that every time we putt down the street on one of our old mv's ... some unemployed car...
Just got an application from Gulfway and the GVW of my 818 worries me... Any idea how that would work out? I have my deuce fire truck already tagged and insured, but hearing all these noises about changing MV registration options throughout the different states, I believe that once tagged and...
I don't know the answer to that, but I know that hydraulic lines covered by mud, dirt or compost on heavy equipment at my business get corroded into leakage if not cleaned promptly (and they are manufactured out of material that is much heavier gauge than our brake lines) I guess the only...
I like the test idea. While performing the test on my 818 I also noticed that the lines were covered in dirt and mud. I know that such conditions lead to rotting steel lines. I have added cleaning the brake lines and then protecting them from rust. I have a feeling that when these lines...
My point exactly... we only have one system, no backup... if it fails... it is up to downshifting, e-brake, power down, or prayer ... etc. If we develop a small leak in a cylinder... it may be gradual (hopefully) and not catastrophic, but if we get what you described... a burst line... you are...
>>>I totally understand the lecturing about maintenance but maybe we should think about how we talk about this topic as a community before the wrong people see into our minds and make our nightmares a reality.
I know of no other way to bring my point accross... If I were a betting man, I would...
but some people buy these trucks and treat them like cars
Yup... but they are not. And when you drive something that can do so much damage if anything hiccups, you have a responsibility that goes along with that ownership... (personally, I look at is as sort of a privilege)
And as far as...
got my fingers crossed... know what? almost 30 years ago I had master/slave/brake issues with a db5 aston and parts were unavailble and/or obscenely expensive/// it was not cheap then, but this same guy was able to sleeve the cylinders in stainless.. lets see what he comes up with now.
