Paranoia is setting in, it seems on a 42 year old deuce anything could happen unexpectedly. Crossing my fingers, I hope I dont have nightmares about it tonight!
interesting/informative/important thread
In other words, I don't need to worry about my deuce going ape**** down the road the next time i drive it? Should I eventually invest in a positive air shutoff valve and is there anyway to know if my turbo or ip is about to take a dump?
Since I'm new (and frankly scared ****less) to this whole runaway business i better get this straight. Now, the only thing that will cause a runaway is when you lose a seal in the turbo? How does a turbo lose a seal, overheating? And to counteract this issue, you can either put something over...
How high are the chances of something like this happening? Could you just be driving down the road and then, "oh look my deuce is at full throttle who is it going to kill first?" It almost makes me not want to drive my deuce anymore.
Where can you purchase the 2nd/3rd set and will that fix the gear grinding or only stop it from popping out of 3rd?
Hey dale, the truck will be delivered here (FL) on Monday April 2nd.
Some things that I've noticed about the truck: It grinds gears often, it fully pops out of 3rd gear unless I hold it down with a lot of force and it has loose steering. Easy fixes? My guess is the transmission is going, I don't know about the loose steering.
I've recently moved from Maine to Florida and purchased a deuce beforehand planning to drive it from New York to Florida. The truck only made it to Pennsylvania before it started having problems, so that's where I left it and continued the trip in my chase vehicle.
i went for a walk behind my school today and to my total surprise they have a used motor oil dumping station for some strange reason. I think I may try seeing if I could buy it off em. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22582771/WP_000039.jpg
I've been searching for a measurement on the height of the deuces bed whence the bows and canvas are on it. I plan to stack some furniture and boxes inside it and need to know. Thanks!
Well, he took the the 4800 lamp out of the box and it looks exactly the same as the one you sent me, except it didn't have the long wire extensions coming off the 3 prongs.
Basically, my deuce needs a new headlight. I read somewhere on here that the part number i needed was "4863" at napa. I went to napa and was told that the part number was "obsolete", but the man there said that part number "4800" (I think he said it's a 24v lamp) might work. Any ideas, on what...
