Yep, passenger side panel is shorter. Pretty easy to modify the existing side panel. Relocate the aft lower hinge and cut the panel down and move the latch hardware.
I have not experienced any blind spot issue while driving/maneuvering the vehicle. The A3 intake air filter is easier to service than the A2 under hood filter assembly.

If whoever you chose does not have the right manual....walk away. That's a nice clean holding jig. Did you have clutch abrasive in the pan? How about little balls of aluminum? The drawing for the fab...
Finally dropped the transmission out of the A3. Soldier B (Private Wrench), and I had it on the floor in 4 hours. No smashed fingers, no busted knuckles, no broken hardware. Now to get it to a good shop.
The M39/M809 series 5 tons had the last manual transmissions. M939 series trucks are equiped with automatics. It would be a big job to put a manual in a M923....
Why re-invent the wheel. Stick to the TM guidance. Six feet of water could really contaminate the trucks systems.
A bumper to bumperette service would include all filters; air, hyd, and oil. All fluids; eng, trans, transfer, check axles/bearings.
