nice deuce. its american engineering at its finest. when us rednecks want it done, theres only ONE tool we need, duct tape. come to think of it, my ranger has pinstripes of duct tape on the hood.
I cant help but laugh at this one. if this thief is planning on using the fuel in a diesel, its gonna die, if he's gonna us it in a gasser, he better be ready for it to smoke like mad and run like crap IF it even runs. this is a HUGE if on any engine other than a deuce multifuel.
My...
I'm considering all options right now, then I'll decide from there what to get and probably use the 5.9cummins with a manual behind it, NO WAY am I goin automatic on this kind of rig, its just not natural to me.
Umm, CXT $100K, deuce, around $4K, tell me which you'd go with. you tell me which you'd go for. besides, its hard to find a truck that looks like an M35 and is that cool. a CXT wont draw the same crowd an M35 will.
Oh, the whole reason I want to do this on a deuce is to have a project to...
I'm figuring on putting better brakes in too. I love the look of the M35 but not the speed of it. thats why I plan a bit more powerful engine, and different tranny.
yep, work truck/recreation rig for camping. maybe I'll go for a slightly smaller engine, I really dont feel like making chassis modifications to fit it in there.
Ok, cool, so this IS possible from what I can gather. I just cant logically justify 6x6 drive, if its gonna be an ON road truck. I'd rather just drive it as a regular 4x6 instead, and use the front as a steering only axle.
just wondering, has anyone tried to put a different tranny like a 10 spd, and a bigger engine, like a Cat 3408 in a deuce? just wondering, cause I want to get one, put this kind of engine in, change the axles to something more common, instead of a 6wd, I only really want rear wheels to be...
Interesting news, a ZIL can be imported to the US according to the person running Russiantrucks. I got an email from him today about this type of truck. if anyone wants one, I'm going to order one or two for myself later on this year, and see how it works out for me.
For info on what to bring, see the deuce list at the top of the page. IMO, if it was driven in, it should be ok to drive out, but might not be. its your call.
So do mine, and I just run a 221flathead V8 with flowmasters on it in a pickup and they hate me. wait' till I'm in a deuce converted with a Cat diesel V8, and 10 spd in it. lol, they'll HATE me for sure.
is the engine in a CUCV, the 6.2L diesel, the same as what the HMMWV uses?
I just started thinking about this last night, and wondered if they're the same motor or not.
I'm just electronically challenged, so I'm actually willing to pay someone to do it for me. I might give it a shot though considering you tell me its not too hard. all I need is a set of diagrams to help me figure out what wires go where.
