The home of Ford and one of the former leaders (Dearorn) in the American auto industry and they don't buy American. Lets put more people out of work.aua Don, Really nice looking truck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My MV is a 1986 M1031 as well. Still trying to get all the vehicle mechanicals sorted before trying the generator, but will get there. If you don't know when the last PM was done on the truck you need to do everything. Start small and work up. Get the TM's you can down load them at...
I think the only requirements are to have the green addiction in some manner, not to be an a$$ hole in any manner, to help out if you can and to have fun!:driver:
Welcome to the site. Looks like you already have the addiction. Wreckers are cool!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was not at Brad's because of work. Hope to see you soon!:driver:
All CUCV's use 1984 parts in them. The government did not want to stock all the different model year parts. I found this out when I went to get the washer fluid bottle for my 1986 M1031. The stock 1984 bottle doesn't have pump in it. the 1986 does. My 1986 M1031 has the pump on the wiper motor...
In picture #2 your steering wheel is quite cracked. Check on the classic car forums. There is a Marine epoxy that is used to fill the cracks and then painted. They use it all the time it doesn't shrink and once painted you can never tell there was a repair. Hope this helps. Excellent work so far...
Glad all the drums are dry. You do very good work excellent thread. Will now move to your new thread. Let me know there if this fixes your problem or you need to rebuild your MC. Thanks, Dwayne
No problem just trying to help. The small leak in the airpack may have caused air to get back in the system try bleeding again. Also look at the back and lower part on each drum for fluid. sometimes the wheel cylinders start leaking after new fluid is in the system.
Not to be picking on you, but have you bleed the brakes since the rebuild on the air pack and the brake adjustments? Also check to see if you have any leaks that may have started after you put clean fluid in the system. There is a thread on a neat bleeder you can make to do it yourself. I would...
My problem was the vacuum pump. They seem to dry up from sitting to long. Mine shifts great now. From frist to 2nd at 15mph and from 2nd to 3rd at 25mph. It was shifting from 1st to 2nd at 25mph and 2nd to 3rd at 35mph. I hope this helps. The vacuum gage will tell you if it is the pump.:driver:
