Here is a shelf full of that same basic pulley made of aluminum ( oem would be steel ). They have the same bore and the offset is .05 shy ( about a thickness of a washer) these are from a roush supercharger. I'm fairly certain that the alterator pulley of a 03-04 cobra mustang and the 01 to 04...
I make pulleys for a living. The bore and offset and rib count are a common size . I would imagine there used on a number of applications. Especially large 6 cylinder deisels . And some V8 cars.
Yes the tool does sit on top of the retainer.the slot should be a good inch if possible as the retainer will have to be pushed about 5/8 inch then you can use a small screw driver or magnet to pull out the 2 retaining clips.
Sorry I just read you had the old mechanical unit. Have you tried swapping it out? They are easy to change. My m35a2 I use to have had a bad switch. Drove me nuts !!
