Amazing level of detail, nice work. Second the concern on concrete blocks, if you have to use them (they are handy) stack them vertically as designed and put a piece of heavy plywood on the top to support jack stand.
This sound like the truck is operating as designed. No overheat light, trans temp @200. New shutter stat, just ensure the fan clutch is engaging, fan will produce a louder sound, pulling air. Work that truck.
Yep, head in this direction, good buddy's A2 did the same thing, longer it sat, the prime would be lost/drained off. He replaced all the fuel lines and returns. Now everything stays primed w/ fuel, fires up after a long nap.
Yep, you have several issues, that combined will lead to high temps. Low engine speed will result in low fan RPMs = low air flow through the radiator. AZ outside air temps add to this. The fan will not engage until the thermostat opens and engages the fan clutch, this will occur @ 185 F...
Just an FYI, Kentucky has amended KRS 186.020 with SB 176GA -that will allow owners of military surplus vehicles to operate then on Kentucky highways. A "military surplus vehicle" is defined at Section 3 of the bill. This definition includes (A) multi-purpose wheeled surplus military vehicle...
Yep, we all have been there, it is on inside out. I have a new tan cover on a truck, I believe the NSN and part number are on the inside forward panel. As Valance stated, the vents need to extend out to protect from rain. The Operators manual instructs to write "FRONT" in chalk on the front...
That is called a "percussion adjustment". The PCB might just need some use, exercise the relays, master switch, on -off -on -off several times. Then again the PCB might be getting ready to fail forever. The percussion adjustment may not work the next time. The relays in the PCB can be replaced...
Welcome from Kentucky, congratulations on your new truck, we like pictures. As for our moderators, they are some of the funniest guys going. Dry sense of humor though.......
Yes, sounds like the PCB. Pull the connector off the box and put a meter on it. Should have 24 v on one of the large pins. There is a post regarding trouble shooting the PCB. Lots of good info and instructions to make a jumper lead to jump the connector and get it started.
Most of us are seasoned auction vets, we know the in and outs of the system,(and past pricing). Now enter some one who needs a trailer, has priced a commercial equivalent, and buys a military surplus item because the cost is the same and it will last forever. -also maybe close to home.
Yep, those little mud dabber's do it to all my trucks. After I clean them out, spray a little wd-40 in there, seems to keep them out for a while.
M939 truck have 4 drains vertical and shot you in the left leg.
