Pretty much. I am waiting on SF-97s for at least 11 items. Seems rather curious that GovPlanet is more than happy to take (and sit on) my money for a piece of paper that they know in advance they cannot produce in a timely manner.
Looks great. Can you provide any tips on quantity of paint you used, number of coats, type of spray gun and nozzle you used, air pressure, etc.? I nearly zero experience spraying paint and a have a few to paint with CARC in the next month or so. I need all the help I can get. ;)
Congrats on the new Humvee. I have a bunch of camo and want tan. I think It is a completely defensible position to have three, at a bare minimum: camo, solid green, tan. At least until you start getting into all the variants: 2 man, slantback, ambulance, GMV . . . I may have a problem. ;)
I have those brackets on my 1995A1 and assumed they were for a pioneer kit, but would like to hear from someone who knows instead of ASSumes. ;)
Sub'd for an informed response.
I get that you may have done the swap for less, but the average 4L8Oe swap cost more than a "couple thousand" and quite a bit of time, not to mention trouble shooting error codes, etc. if you check the recent auction prices, you will see plenty of M1123 that have sold for $10-12K. I know...
Can you expound more on the emissions issue? I have not seen any chatter on that. I am not challenging you, but rather actually curious. I recently bought a 1999 M1123, but have not take delivery and run through the emissions. I will say in NY getting my 1995 to pass inspection was a joke -...
Just to confirm, as stated above, it was tarted up by Black Dog Customs out of GA. How has your M1123 treated you the last few months? I just "won" one at auction and am looking forward to putting it through the paces.
I posted in the other thread, but I will throw in my .02 here. I have A0s. A1 and now an A2ish M1123. My feeling is that if you think that you will eventually want to upgrade to a 4L80e trans (extra gear for highway driving, plus park), then definitely bite the bullet and buy an M1123 or...
While I have been perfectly happy with my 6.2/3L80e powered Humvees, I am not sure it is really worth the time and $$$ to do an engine and/or trans swap on an M998 now that the prices have dropped on the M1123s, and given how they are hacking apart the M1025/1045s, I imagine prices should settle...
Must be hit or miss. I had an EUC clear in less than 10 days on a May 24th purchase date. I am a repeat offender/purchaser, so obviously I am already in the system. We'll see what happens with the two I bought this week. Tick, tock . . .
Wait, you mean new info can surface when an "old" topic is discussed anew? :D
Thanks for posting the rigging pdf. I flipped through it and noticed the on page 2-12 how they tape the headlights and turn signals. The USMC hood I picked up for my M966 had the lights taped just like that and I...
The hood reinforcement kits were created to compensate for the added weight of the armored grilles. If you have the standard grille, the kit is likely unnecessary.
Congrats on the new acquisition.
