12vctd, Thanks for the details, they did help answer my question... decision time.
NOW... what is: " M1009 adv inj timing, 1/8 Fuel screw turn, runs like a dream."? This sounds like a must do mod, what exactly is this about?
wdbtchr, what do you mean? Is the Blazer going to ride noticeably harder? The C10 pick up- a 1/2T is different because of the springs; yet I don't notice a harsh ride in my C20 with 3/4T springs. Besides the 3/4T springs have been broken in for 38 years.
Iceman, so are you saying I should be able to get all the springs from my 3/4 ton pick up (front and rear) and put them into my Blazer? What will happen to the pick up if I put the blazer springs in it? Would it just be a 1/2 ton?
ok, I'll measure them; but even if the truck has a longer set, this guy in my body/paint class yesterday told me he did the same swap and they bolted right in- his bronco was in the shop and when I looked at it, it was apparent that the leaf swap gave him a lift as well.
NOW... what can be done...
I have a 73 C20 pick-up (chevy, for those of you that don't habla), I was going to sell the truck; but am wondering if I can swap the rear springs straight across for the ones in my Blazer- any know, or try it yet?

CPAPPY, Good looking paint. What technique did you use to lay the paint down? All green base followed by -Detail HVLP gun to lay down the BROWN and BLACK? What did you use to outline the paint-by-number lines?

Bought one last week. I need to replace the Lunette Ring- Might be able to weld just the ring, where it was cut off to make room for a ball hitch.
Also need a spare. The trailer now has two stock wheels, I would like to keep them that way. Are the military tread tires good for freeway miles...
Bought a M416 from a guy in Washington. It's in pretty good shape. I have to weld the lunette ring back on- was cut off for a standard ball hitch- luckily they only removed the ring. Needs a sand blasting and paint. I'll post pics later.
I'll have to find a spare as well. If you know of one...
Oldsouthernboy, The carrier came off of a Pathfinder at the boneyard; it is aftermarket though. It has a sticker on it that says "Valley Industries, Inc"
I looked at the link; but did not find the carrier?!? Call and see. If you take a picture to a fabricator it looks easy enough to make- 1 bend.
Thanks for the comments. I took a paint class at the community college. The instructor coached me in applying the Polyester 2-part primer to recoat the fiberglass top. The Paint was shot 2 weeks later- last Saturday, by me in the paint room. I used the Gillespie "383". Masking took the longest...
Can someone straighten this all out please.
If one just puts these plugs in will they fry if one doesn't make changes to the stock system? My Blazer is still running the 24volt starter. I thought it was a straight change of plugs without any other mods?!? :?
red, not a dumb question at all. As you can see, the tire is inside now. The mount is snug and secure... but it is inside and it does does hog up space for my outdoor needs during hunting season. I usually draw tags for remote desert units, and need to take water and fuel as the last diesel...
Nut, by side-mount type, do you mean the type that attaches to the corner of the rig in two places? If so, those seem to wreak havoc on the sheet metal from what I have read and seen. I know I could have gone to a custom HD bumper; but I was trying to keep the back-to-stock option. This mount...
Hoping for comments, cause I was a little worried that due to the heavy tire, I may require additional bracing on the upright tubing- maybe a 3/16" steel plate to shore-up the tube arch. Just concerned that off-road rattles could bend the tubing.
Think it might?
wsucougarx, did you mount all 5 can carriers atop the mounting bracket that is bolted to the floor on the driver,s side rear in a M1009- I think these are the bolts the OP is interested in.
Mine was from a support group at Moffet Field, CA. I found the decal from the unit online and was thinking about adding it to the lower drivers side corner of the tailgate, or drivers front quarter panel where the emblem usually is found. Then I found something in the paint TM about not...
Mine were 7mm. I had a **** of a time finding any with round tops, so I used the hex heads- all I could find actually. The 7mm seem to be popular in the airplane repair business; but I put a lot of time into finding any with round tops, to prevent digging onto the bottom of the gas can.
In the...
I bought the lock cylinder from the M1009 guy on eBay. The window crank assembly was pretty complete; but it was only available in chrome- ebay also, different guy. Judicious sanding and priming with self-etching primer, then Black or green, if you like. The chrome one will take more...
I picked this carrier up at the wrecking yard some months ago. I was looking for one for a few months and finally found this one on a Nissan pathfinder.
It was attached to a heavy duty bumper. Since the M1009 does not have one, I added one. First I removed the tow ring bars (3 bolts). I bought...
