Missing steering wheel actuator component for self canceling turn signal

Hit up Mac Motors. They have it for $13.74 (way cheaper than Kascar). Do a search for part # 12447084.

    Duramax vs Cummins HMMWV Conversions

Not my truck. Got the pics from a surplus dealer in KY. Truck belongs to one of his customers. Has a 6bt in it. Needed a bit of a lift to fit it. No details beyond that.

Good / Bad Comments About HMMWV's??

With as spot on as your truck is, I can understand his initial concern! rofl

Good / Bad Comments About HMMWV's??

Nothing but lots of positive comments and thumbs ups here too! Had one instance when I ran to the store for its weekly drive and when I came out a dad with his two young kids asked if they could get their picture with it, was more than happy to oblige. Another instance when I was making a beer...

Anyone Have Any Details On The Fuel Can Carrier I Just Bought?

Thanks for the pic Greg! That makes sense. The A2 bumper I've got definitely isn't pre-drilled!

Anyone Have Any Details On The Fuel Can Carrier I Just Bought?

That's what I was also afraid of when I started sizing things up on my truck. I guess once I have it in hand I'll have to see how I want to go forward. Thanks again!

Anyone Have Any Details On The Fuel Can Carrier I Just Bought?

Yeah, right after I had just about given up looking and posted this thread, I found these pics. That tire carrier is definitely offset to the right of where the Rhino has the tire and now I'm wondering about the part in red. It doesn't look like it bolts up to any preexisting holes from the...

Anyone Have Any Details On The Fuel Can Carrier I Just Bought?

More specifically the manufacturer and any pictures of one mounted to a truck. I spent at least 45 minutes trying to find pictures of it but no luck. At first when I bought it, I thought it might mount on the far driver's side of the bumper where the two closely spaced outer brace bolts are but...

Removing shifter to install back-up light switch

    1) Yep, had to drill out the holes a little. 25/64 holes for the rivnuts I got. They're 1/4-20 rivnuts so they even worked with the factory bolts. They were from eBay seller aerohard. $15 shipped for 100. 2) No noticeable gap. The flange is pretty thin. The shifter boot should help seal...

Removing shifter to install back-up light switch

Most everyone covered the basics with disconnecting the linkage and the bolts. I didn't have a second person handy and was able to get to all of my bolts through the doghouse opening but it was tedious. I would strongly recommend getting a new boot in preparation for when you get it out. Mine...

    Slow Speeds

My M998A1 will do 65 on the highway no problem (had it up to 69 once!). Do you have fresh fuel in it? If the diesel is stale, you'll definitely have reduced power. Also, probably couldn't hurt to run some Diesel Kleen through it. I add some every fill up. I double dosed my tank during...

    M998 hmmwv brake vibration

TM 9-2320-280-20-2, Section 7-9. SERVICE BRAKE ROTOR REPLACEMENT (page 759 in my PDF) It's pretty easy. Just make sure you've got new Grade 8 lockwashers or Nord-Lock washers (or just get 4 of these), a torque wrench, and Red Loctite to reinstall everything. Make sure everything is torqued to spec.

    M998 hmmwv brake vibration

Maybe consider getting the rotors machined or replaced as well as replacing the brake pads. You might have "hot spots" on the rotors from brake pad deposits or impurities (like oil) in the pads. It will also give you a chance to examine your calipers to make sure you don't have any cracks in...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Awesome! I heard SHOT was pretty good this year! I need to get out to it myself some time. Have been wanting to attend for a while. Maybe next year... As for the part in red, check out Breton Industries. Friend of mine who's on here just ordered their Camo kit to convert his 2 door. No need to...

    how to soundproof the humvee

 Only thing I've got in my truck currently for insulation is the previously mentioned Lizard Skin. You can probably find the post searching for Lizard Skin in this subforum. I posted some details on the application process. Other than that just some heavy rubber horse stall mats from TSC...

    how to soundproof the humvee

Saw this on page 1 so figured I'd add my bit of info to this necrothread. Just so happens today I got my sample box I had requested from db Engineering a couple days ago. I told them in the request form what the application was for and that I was just an individual purchaser. They...

    turn signal/ marker light problem

I see you said that you replaced the turn signal switch. Did you replace the bulb in the the switch with an LED bulb? I know that with certain flashers, that's needed to get everything to operate correctly. It's a BA9S bulb. I've got one of these in my switch indicator.

    TyreBeads - HMMWV/Runflats?

I don't think the beads will work well because of the runflat grease that's supposed to be in the tires. They'll just get stuck to it and really throw your tires out of balance. Seems some folks were getting positive results with Centramatics in this thread.

Has anyone converted a 6.2 into a turbo charged unit?

Maybe site ownership might see fit to add an additional subforum since there are so many more of these trucks in private hands now, like some of the other vehicles get. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/forumdisplay.php?49-Deuce-Modification-and-Hot-Rodding...
