M809 Series Tachometer cable help needed

I did something loke OPCOM did. When I got my pump back from rebuild, the tach did not work. Had been working fine before the rebuild. Same deal, the cable end seemed to be smaller than the socket in the pump now. I used a piece of small diameter plastic tubing i.e. aquarium air tubing to...

    September 11, 2011 Remembrance Events. 10th ANNIV.

My guess is there are more than a few in the Steelsoldiers community that lost someone they knew on this terrible day. I honor all who perished that day. I would like to specifically remember my squadron mate and most of all my friend, Capt Jack D. Punches, USN who lost his life in the...

    Show us your Military Trailers

Fuzzytoaster, good question. LEO says it just as legal as an F250 pulling a 28' camper with an 18' ski boat towing behind the camper. At least here in CO I believe it is legal. Only had that variety pack on the road one time. By the way I need to add a cow catcher like the Mad Max Mack...

Correct Loctation for M37 Large Door Star??

Bruce here is what mine looked like when we found it and now torn apart with some work done. It was a pretty complete and straight truck with spun bearing when I go it. Very rust-free even under the battery tray. Right now the truck does not have a complete anything on it except for the...

Found metal in my transfer case

Found the exact same thing on mine. It was the front input shaft bearing. It appears that location is not the best lubed area of the transfer case.

    Getting a MEP-016C going

Also check to see if the fuel selector valve is set to feed from the onboard tank. My 016C has a threaded tap on a selector valve to allow feed from an external fuel source i.e. a 5 gallon fuel can. That may be in the wrong position on yours. Also the carb has a manual primer lever on it to...

    Show us your Military Trailers

1971 M818 pulling a 1981 m971 and 1986 M105A1 trailers to an event close buy in the good ol USA. Can't see the M105 in the mirrors behind the M971 and you sure can't back that rig!! The 971 has all the hookups (pintle, air & lights) to pull a smaller trailer as the M971 had generators...

Correct Loctation for M37 Large Door Star??

Bruce, is your yellow weight classification about 6 inches in diameter? That's what I found mine to be on the door. Mine has the stencil gap in the #4 as shown on the attached picture. One of these days my paint will look like yours hopefully. Still a ways off. Phil

Correct Loctation for M37 Large Door Star??

As I sanded away the the blue paint a fire department sprayed over the old OD the door stars appeared. They are both in different locations in reference to the vertical and horizontal center lines of the door. One is closer to the top of the door than the other and one is closer to the front...

Here are a few pictures of the MVCC rolling a few vehicles in the Douglas County Fair parade in Castle Rock, CO supporting the local senior center. We were expecting 40 people, many WWII vets, but only 6 showed up because of variety of reasons. Ghostdriver got some time away from working on...
