Trying contacting the local/closest UPS Store, I have had the make pickups at several sites. They normally know the routine rather well. There is a wrecker service that is real close the Chambersburg that has recovered some big stuff for me. I'll try to get their name and #.
Yep, bad scene. They were very handy place to source electrical components. Try a Google search for "diodes" they are available. Get it shipped. Make sure you match the color coding.
Ironically. My A3 came from the Airforce with ATF in the trans. I replaced it with a Dextron product. There is also a spin on transmission filter on the right frame rail, forward of the cab.
Ron,
IDK = I don't know. I'm not a text guy either. Some of my longer text are "OK", "Leaving now", "no".
Texting has degraded communication and writing skills. Hopefully the OP understands and revisits the sites rules and requirements. Repairing and troubleshooting these vehicles takes...
Welcome from Kentucky, nice truck. The A3 is a unique MV, either loved or despised. Pay particular attention to the transmission, and fluid type. The military utilized EO 10w40 in lue of ATF. Also the trans has an issue with an internal seal leaking and causes a fourth gear slip. My truck...
The M936 Wrecker is waiting for some work and a couple more votes. We are really impressed with the number of votes
it got early on. Thanks for all the support. We needed the lift... get it, "lift".
OK, got it, yes those L100 engines are stout. I've been off the auction sites fore a while. What are the going bids for a nice one? Might have to start looking again.
I take it that you have a MEP501 being delivered? Handy unit for 24v applications or charging up MVs. You want to convert it to 120/240V? That will take a little bit of engineering. What you want is a MEP 531, 120/240 3KW. They work well. The 531 has a completely different control panel and...
Mil C/Bs are self resetting. Once the short is fixed the C/B should reset. Double check for shorts. Might need to disconnect the leads and put a meter (ohm) on them. The connectors will come apart. A little finase goes a long way. Don't think the heater is related to the turn signal. Wire...
The fuel tank has a drain plug. No siphoning required. Drain it all out. Put at least 10 gallons of fresh fuel in it and turn the pump on and bleed at the filters. Two good strong batteries and I bet it starts, might take a whiff of ether.
My M813 gets call a deuce and a half all the time. I'll politely correct them with " it's a five ton". Then they say, 'what's a five ton?" It is amazing what these trucks were designed to accomplish. It was the driver that is the limiting factor.
John,
Should be good now, over serviced coolant systems will puke the overage out. Either through the coolant overflow or coolant reservoir overflow. That truck will be very reliable after this steady trip. Exersice keeps these vehicle running good.
Stay safe
