I just received my Grill Cover for the Blazer from Jatonka. Dennis included some instructions and it looks to be a breeze to install. I'll post when I do... too rainy out at the moment. Also just got a gallon of Opti-Lube XPD for diesels. I hope it's all it is cracked up to be.
UPDATED with pics.
Wallew, I had been wondering about these units and was even going to get one. I ended up taking a paint course at the Community COllege to paint my wife's car last summer. I was introduced to all the steps of priming and painting with compressed air guns. I promptly came home and tackled some...
It is the best one NAP had. Still, it pales in comparison to the beefy copper one I removed. I kept it. I think I'll have the radiator shop I trade with look it over and see if it cam be rebuilt.
Anyone know a place to send these to?
MUDDuck, just stole some ideas from you to put those rifle racks to use. thanks. Also I have a Pioneer Rack from a humvee- I though I would bolt it into the Drivers rear window; but it may look pretty cool on the grille- I just hate to see it get ripped-off
Took my Wilson Gear Reduction starter to O'Reily's for warranty replacement. They are shipping me a new one! :jumpin:. Cleaned all the oil/crud from the flexplate cover. _ too cold nad foggy to replace tonight- tomorrow looks better. I am gonna shelve the WIlson unit. I already stuck my standby...
I was just wondering. Since I put my new Napa Heater Core in I have not ever though: "wow, that sucker is getting hot!" My temp gauge- yes gauge- I installed one on the passenger side boss, rarely tops 130* for the first 30 minutes or so. Today I got it near 150*. Beats overheating, I know, but...
Thanks Mr Grinch... I just got back from Oreily's. The guy at the counter was a jerk. I put the starter on the counter and tell him exactly what is happening. I told him I just spoke with Wilson's Tech Support and the fellow there concurred that it sounds like the pinion gear/clutch was shot. He...
I found this today while surfing for remedies to my starter issue. It is a .pdf for the Delco 28MT Gear Reduction Starter. This is the one that many will end up "upgrading" to when they choose to replace, rather than rebuild the current 27MT Direct Drive that was originally installed in the...
I got a light and video camera on the starter after I charged both batteries and load tested them. The video shows the starter Pinion Gear moving out into the Flexplate and syncing fully with the teeth. The shaft seems to spin quite nicely; but the pinion gear does not spin. I moved (turned) the...
I just came in from pulling the flexplate cover off. A few of the teeth on the flexplate looked a little chewed up- probably from the starter gear not fully engaging the flexplate. I don't have a helper right now so I turned the flexplate so that good teeth are directly across from the starter...
jdeoliveira74, was this a direct swap out, or were modifications to the frame of seat needed. I'd be up for reclining as I sometimes find camping conditions poor when I get there.
If you are after replacements for the M1009- the S10 seats that look the same as the ones you have (or should have) now are plentiful at the wrecking yard. I picked up a very nice pair and switched the bases. Painted the metal black (flat) and the seats with SEM- the paint code is under one...
Stampy, when you figure this one out, please post the fix. I am having the same issue. It seems that when I let off the accelerator at anything over a moderate speed, I hear and feel a bump that feels like the rear axle or u-joint at the rear driveline. I don't know enough (yet) about rear...
My new (er) Wilson MT28 Gear Reduction starter has been working like a champ since I put it in in the fall. I went to start it in the evening and it only wound up but did not seem to engage the Flexplate. I have not pulled the Flexplate cover off yet; but I was wondering if any of you have...
CROM, if you are getting the click instead of the lovely whir of the starter, you might check the wire from the back of the fuse box (engine bay side) that goes to the Starter Solenoid. It is purple. Give it a tug on the passenger side of the intake where it leaves the loom to go downward to...
JHOLLER:
SAVE YOUR MONEY... if you won't listen, send some money to me and I will send my two that I got from SMG and you can see for yourself what an incredible piece of junk these "heaters/defrosters" are. I plugged mine in and turned it on to the foggy windshield last winter. After about 15...
Use a square of the Heady Duty Velcro. But the fuzzy side about 1.25"sq and the other side smaller- about 3/4"sq. Clean the surfaces with alcohol. Apply the smaller square to the GP "box". This makes removing (separating) them an easy task and you wont end up pulling one off by the adhesive back.
I just received an email "Alert" from Harbor Freight Tools. Seems they have a new line of winches. I have been toying with the idea of installing one on my Blazer; but have not committed because they seem like an expensive proposition. I realize there are better winches- the WARN seems to get a...
