On the subject of the food service, maybe you could get them to start lunch before noon. I was up early and looking for lunch about 1115 hrs and was told to come back after 1200. I wasn't the only one looking to eat at that hour, either. By starting earlier, it would help distribute the load...

Looks to be a good show if the weather co-operates. Not an airshow, but I'm told they will be trying to fly all the F4U's once/day.
Good. I remember the Gilbert display, but didn't make MTA last year (didn't know about it until after the fact). Hopefully the weather will be like this weekend coming up!!!
Ok, thanks! What era are you going for? My best impression is late 67-mid 68, type 3's w/subdued insignia. I could do a little later, type 4's (ripstop) w/ the same web gear (M1956 stuff, no M1967 nylon) and pin-on rank. Could also do a chopper pilot from early 64-67 with flight overalls and...
Not at all, it would be a mess. Plastic models are styrene and need a glue with enough bite, but not too much. I've seen the results of using the wrong glue=warped and/or melted pieces. With the prices on kits these days, a few bucks for the proper glue seems a no-brainer.
I agree with the above, get a fender support and get 2 front tires (as said, always in pairs) This is a truck and you take your responsibility for driving a large vehicle seriously. You are seriously safety minded when you operate your vehicle, so everything must be safe. I'd reserve the...
Over the years, I've found that a combination of Tenax 7R and super glue cover 99% of the situations I encounter when building. (No, you don't mix them, the Tenax is a solvent based liquid and the super glue is for things that need a quick attach and/or non-plastic parts.) For clear plastic...
The Merrimack Valley MV club's annual, this year at the Holiday Inn Boxborough, MA. Sunday, 3/14/10 only, 9-2. Exit 28 off I-495 (Rt111E) just north of the I-290 feed.
I've never been, so can't say what will be there. I'm going to COMVEC tonight and plan to ask around. It's close enough and...
Well, never is a very long time. I've seen some amazing restorations over the years, and this one looks to be in far better shape for a M37 than many other folks have started with. The worst case I can think of for this vehicle is that the frame has been damaged beyond repair. Even then, the...
If the frame, body and suspension (including axles and t-case) are in good condition, you can usually find an engine/tranny combo for not too much money. One good thing about these is that parts are still around. I has likely been converted to 12V for the 350, so that would be a restoration...
Not up here. They started putting down the salt-solution pre-treatment yesterday, even though we aren't supposed to get much snow, if any.
Too soon to tell if these new chemicals will have the corrosive effects of regular salt, but the metal parts of the back bumper of my car (under the plastic...
What you have to watch out for with avatars is the exif info attached to photos directly from digital cameras. I had the same problems, in order to make the required maximum file size, my image was very tiny. It was due to the exif data (camera records settings etc as a data file attached to...
For those folks not familiar with the AFV M35A2 1/35 kit, it is very highly detailed and I would not consider it suitable for a beginner modeller. I'm about 85% done with my first one (AFV Deuce, that is!) and I've learned a few things about the kit. If you are interested in my comments, read...
I had a feeling. A local hobby shop seemed to think they were getting close to a re-issue when I was looking for those kits last fall. Good news anyway, should keep the ebay prices in line.
AFV 3504 (M35A2) has been discontinued for quite some time. I have been able to snag a few on EBay from time to time, the cheaper ones have damaged boxes (collectors want perfection, builders want all the parts!)
There's been some talk of having a New England meet but like BadGMC said, there is nothing to keep a bunch of folks from getting together for a picnic or whatever.
