Wow, this is a good idea but would be difficult to administer. In Indiana you have the choice of regular or Military Vehicle registration. The BMV site doesn't address MV registration (called "chapter 14" here). You have to search for the code that addresses MV registration. You'll find it...
PJSM37,
Welcome to the forum. Looks like a nice spring project, after you get moved in to the new house, of course.
Don't forget to get over to the G741.org site and put your truck into the database once you get the correct frame number.
Yep, looks like you got quite a discovery process...
I used to go there in 2002-2004 when I was stationed at Ft Campbell. Best yard I ever walked, like Disneyland for OD junkies. I would go up in the mornings and walk the fields all day. Always found something and always got good deals on what I hauled out. Only talked to Howard once, my first...
Jeff,
I don't know if you re-posted this in the M37 section or visited the G741 site to get an answer. You may want to check there if you haven't already got it figured out.
Are you running a solid state regulator or older type?
Sorry for the late response but I didn't see it until I was in...
So what is everyone using to match these colors? All I can find in the parts stores for engine paint is aluminum silver. Does this match up OK? Looks a little dull to me, more aluminum than silver (without going out and looking, I think it is Plasti-Cote brand). Thought it should be more...
Your backing plate looks like it could be distorted. The pressed out portion of the plate that the cylinder mounts to looks flattened to a degree near the bottom. I attached a photo of my backing plate and you can see the portion where the cylinder passes through the plate is pressed out, away...
You may want to check over at the G741.org site to see if anyone has any. Elsewise, you may also check with any of the dealers that have M37 parts like Midwest Military, Sid Beck, AB Linn, VPW to name a few.
The odd hole on the front right of the box may be from the knockout for the antenna on...
I don't know how far you want to travel to find a M1009 but the last issue of the Ohio Motorpool Newsletter had one listed in it. I think is is somewhere around Mansfield, OH for about $3500. Obviously, it isn't mine but I remember seeing the ad.
Bigbee,
I see the bolts for the auxiliary seat are still there at least. That is the first time I've seen the spare mounted anywhere other than the front wall of the box or the driver's door. Interesting variation.
Greetings all,
It may be a little early but we wanted to get the word out once we pinned down the details. So mark your end of summer calendars!
We are having the Indiana MVPA Rally and Swap Meet at the Ropkey Armor Museum in Crawfordsville, IN on the 17th - 19th of September this year. It...
That is a mighty fine question to which I don't have an answer for either. You brought up good points. It would only be usable if the spare tire was not present. In which case, it might just be laid on the floor so the spare was available. I believe there was a configuration that authorized...
Gunit,
Yes, anyone can attend-a test run, if you will. Though after a few meetings, you'll probably be handed a membership form if you haven't done one by then.
As mentioned, this chapter is the Indiana MVPA club. There are three chapters located in the state: River City Thunderbolt Club...
Greetings,
We will be having the IMVPA meeting next Saturday, 9 January, at the Carmel American Legion (852 W Main St). The meeting time will be at 10:00AM.
We got new officers and some new business to discuss.
Happy new year and hope to see you there,
The TM states (for all 4 hubs) to tighten the inner nut until the bearings are tight then back off 1/6th turn, rotate tire to check tightness. The outer nut just gets tightened down on top of the locking ring. That's on page 350, paragraph 226 of TM 9-3080(1955).
The flange nuts are torqued...
Greetings,
We will be having the next IMVPA meeting on 14 November, at the Carmel American Legion (852 W Main St). The meeting time will be at 10:00AM.
We will hope elections and discuss some new business.
Hope to see you there,
Oops, sorry I didn't see this earlier. Anyway, the next IMVPA meeting is coming on 14 November at the American Legion (852 W Main St.) in Carmel, IN. Starts at 10AM. I think the AL is also doing a breakfast that morning, unrelated to IMVPA but worth noting.
There will be elections and some...
