Very nice write up Wes. Is shows these truck need to be worked to stay fit. Sitting long periods and little to no use really affects their reliabilty. Once the bugs are out , they keep rolling.

My bad, I thought I read "M931A2" (There is a nice one for sale in WV) your cargo truck will still bounce a bit. Keep the steer tires up to pressure and reduce the rear axle tire about 10 psi. unless you have some weight in the bed. Credit card with good limit just in case. Hearing protection...
Welcome Brian,
I'm sure there is a SS member or two in your neck of the woods. To bad you weren't closer, you could climb around my fleet. M35A2 is a pretty simple machine to maintain. Find a good one and have fun.
The first step in preventative maintenance is cleaning, try it, just remove the cover and give it a good shot of brake/carb cleaner, actuate the lever and spray it again. A little compressed air to blow it out (not blow it up). See if she starts.
Most of the big contract/orders where fulfilled during those years, then after that, the trucks just starting going through overhaul or modification programs. The last to be built were Air Force contract trucks in the mid "80s. All A3 deuces where originally early A2s.
-oh yeah, it's a disease. Next will be a nice trailer to pull behind the deuce, because you need to haul stuff. Then a nice generator, heck you'll need standby power. Then you'll find another truck, heck it to good of a deal to pass up. All good.......
Welcome from KY. You got a real cream puff there. Sitting four years for a M35 is like a long nap. Put two new group 31 850cca or better batteries in it, install a new or rebuilt air pack, (you won't have time to rebuild it right the first time, to much moisture in the system and it is corroded...
I have one installed in an M35A3, still works. I also installed new LED head lights. The push button switch needs a very good ground, additionally, they are ESDS (Electrostatic Discharge Sensitive), mis-handling
the unit/connector can hurt it internally.
