Bendix Kits & Fluid #'s

The kits are no longer in production, but they can still be found at Heavy Duty Truck Parts Dealers. They were made by Bendix and the part #'s are as follows. The kit that was installed on alot of the military vehicles were metal and the # is Bendix 209636...

Here's a 'Old Timers Trick' for finding a no-load miss.
When you shut the engine down, listen closely to the exhaust. If it sounds like it's sucking back on the last couple revs, it's a possible valve issue.
If it does not make that sound, it's a pretty good bet it's a fouled...

The Bendix kits are no longer being made, but there's still plenty out there at heavy duty truck part dealers.
The Bendix Kit part #'s are 209636 and 209637
(209636 is what the Military used, but they're very hard to find)
The best fluid to use in them on a Deuce...
I've got three resin guns from this supplier (www.rreplicas.com) they are all very accurately detailed. The nice thing about resin guns is you don't need to worry about the weather, plus they're affordable.

First person I would recommend you talk to is your insurance man.
Some states require a minimum amount of liability insurance and a bond of some type to cover any haz-mat clean ups in case of an accident.
Depending on the year of your deuce, they may refuse to insure it for any type hauling.
PM our very own 'westfolk' and ask him. He seems to always be up for a OD trip. If he moves it you can be assured it'll get there safe and sound. [thumbzup]

PB's template idea is a good one, I would also like to suggest a different color beacon.
Blue is already for PM notfications.
How about:
'Yellow' needs help.
'Red' emergency situation.
That way folks would know the seriousness of that person's situation and can respond accordingly.
Snuggle dryer sheets in the tool box and under the box seat, plus plenty of moth balls in the cab seems to work.
The moth balls have kept the wasps out of the cab during the summer months also, but mine is stored inside.
I do like the pepermint oil idea.....:wink:
