Just leave the pig tail there, now that the end is cut off, and put a 7 flat pin, RV plug on the end of it.
You can't get better wire then Uncle Sam used!!
Congratulations. Other then putting a winch on her, you will be hard pressed to improve the M-37 in its handlying. The low speed and torque of that little engine to the running gear, is a perfect match. A full set of chains, and your ready for the wilderness. She isn't fast, but she'll get...
You want a wire rope and rigging supply co. Its "6x19 plow steel". They can cut you any length. They can swedge you a loop on the end. The tail chain is essential for keeping the end from being buggered up. McMasterCarr has it. So does Grainger. I bought some here once for a Deuce - we...
The Bolster's wheels will fit on a 105. They are 105 axles/brakes on the bolster, but not the reverse. Deuce wheels are too large in diameter, to fit between the Bolsters two axles. The picture is not real good, but gives some idea about the axle spacing. 16.5x1200 tire/wheel.
My Ranch truck is a M37 & its driven daily. I'm nearly as tall. I just push the side of the clutch pedal, and don't try to get my foot on top. I tell the Kids, its my "4 wheeler. I've had it since along about in the early '70s. I guess that I forgot that there is a space problem.
You can do a valve job, in-frame, but its a pain to work on it that way. Its ment to be pulled. If you do the valve job/re-build thing. Absolutely be sure to change the valve guides. Put new ones in. They are easy to do, not too expensive, and have a lot to do with compression. Don't just...
Number 1 -- you missed something, or you don't have a problem! Otherwise, on the new case, it sounds like you E-brake. Did you adjust that by the book? There is an important sequence to the adjustment. When the tires chirped, somethoing made them skid. Try the test again, see if the...
Your civi pintle will work on the bolster. Its too heavy for even a 1 ton! You can back it on your goosenect, if necessary, but they will often be able to help you load it. I have even drug trailers up on my trailer with a come-along, frontwards, and backwards. If you back it on the trailer...
Sometimes there are flanges inside the housing, that the seal backs up against. If so, your not trying to pull that out too? Stick your finger in there, and see. There are also (usually) grooves cut into that backup flange for a puller. You might have to rotate the puller. If that doesn't...
Full lighting is required here. So are two license plate lights/one license! I have two on Medusa (LEDs), but only one on the bolster. Required or not, I believe in "seeing, and be seen"! I put the out-rigger lights on the bolster on the corners. Guess I'm stretching things, when the tongue...
Make a hard 180 turn on pavement in a parking lot. Stop halfway thtough it, and get out and see if the rear axles are lined up/or not. You said from rear, but other things that cause that are broken engine mounts/trans/T-case mounts.
There was also a regulator & air line to the bell housing with a cable control on the dash, to pressurize the bell housing w/air, to keep the stuff out. The best rule to follow is to keep her out of deep water and especially mud - its far too much work to clean her properly! An Emergency is...
You can probably get a set of visegrips on that fitting that is stick out, and spin it right out. Use a set that has the semi-circular jaws, then just take the pieces to some place for replacement. The kinked piece, you can cut off, and re-use the line, if you can get enough slack, and its...
